Auston's POV- April 2017
I let out a sigh as I opened the door to my room.
"Mom, have you seen my phone?" I called out.
I had to take my parents to the airport, and I could not find my phone.
"It's on the coffee table, bring your charger"
My phone died last night, and I was not in the mood to talking with anyone. Mom and dad understood, so they gave me my privacy. They showed up this morning and by the time I woke up there was breakfast ready. Mom had finished doing my laundry and even packed up a few things around the house.
"Thank you" I told her as she handed me my phone.
"Your dad is downstairs, so let's head out"
I nodded and followed her out. Once we were in the elevator she glanced up at me.
"Have you talked with Madeline?"
"I talked with her after her final" I replied.
"When was this?"
"Tuesday night" I answered.
She hummed lightly and pursed her lips.
"I hope you didn't mouth out at her like you did with your sister"
Maddy was not the only one I had an argument with on Tuesday. I let the stress get to me, and when she wouldn't answer my phone call I got mad. What got me even more pissed off (and jealous) was that Kappy was the one who told me why Maddy wasn't answering her phone. She had a final, so I wouldn't hear from her till later. I snapped at her, and she was not having it either. I got told to fuck off before she hung up on me, and I had not heard from her since. Her graduation was on Saturday, but no pictures had been uploaded to her social media. The only social media she had updated (regularly) was Snapchat, and I saw she was with family. I could call and apologize, and she'd accept it (because that's what she did).
"When do you plan on coming home?"
"In a week or two" I told her.
"It's going to be nice having you all home"
The elevator door opened and she was the first to step out. I followed her out and to the parking structure where dad was waiting.
"Let's head out, we don't want to miss our flight"
I nodded and opened the door for my mom. Once she was inside I closed the door and made my way around. I got inside the car and put my phone to charge.
"How long do you plan on staying in Toronto?"
"A week or two " I replied.
Dad nodded as I turned on the car. The drive to the airport was quick, but we still caught traffic. I usually walked them inside, but they were running short on time.
"Call me when you get home" I said.
Mom nodded and kissed my cheek.
"Call Madeline"
I nodded and stepped back.
"I'll send you some apartment options so keep an eye on your email"
Dad gave me a squeeze and patted my back.
"You hear it from me a lot, but I'm proud of you"
I smiled and stuffed my hands in my pockets.
"We need to get going, we don't want to miss our flight"
While they walked away, I got into my car and reached for my phone. I turned back to their direction to see they were almost out of sight. Just as my phone turned on, I got a call from Willy.
