Madeline's POV- April 2017
"What do you think?" I asked my mom.
She looked away from her laptop and smiled.
"It's really pretty"
"I just hope I cut the circle big enough" I admitted.
"Let it dry, and come sit with me. I need to ring something by you"
Since I had been busy with school I had not had time to design my cap for graduation. My last final had been last night, and I was to exhausted to begin the design. I had to wake up early today to pick up mom (and co.) from the airport. The twins were a bit cranky (Mike was tired as well), so they stayed at the hotel. She made me breakfast and then we had a nap. After our nap she had gone back to work (checking her email), and I began to work on my cap design.
"Where's Melanie?"
I looked at the screen of her laptop to see what time it was.
"She's taking a final" I replied.
There was a light knock on the door.
"Come in" I called out.
The door slowly opened and Jon peaked in.
"I thought you were asleep" I noted.
"I was, but Manny said I was snoring"
Manny was working on a paper that was due at 6PM for his Chicano Studies class.
"Do you mind if I lay in Mel's bed?"
I looked at mom who shook her head.
"Of course not"
He smiled and closed the door behind him.
"Thank you"
Marie immediately jumped off my bed and ran over to him.
"Hey little girl"
He picked her up and smiled as she purred at him.
"Let's take a nap"
Once he was laying down, she cuddled up to him.
"You don't mind if we talk, right?"
Jon was a pretty heavy sleeper, so that was no issue.
"I don't mind"
He fell asleep pretty quick, and mom looked at me when she heard the soft snores.
"Is that what Manuel was complaining about?"
I nodded and she shook her head.
"So what did you want to talk about?" I asked.
She closed her laptop and placed it on my night stand.
"I know you told me to drop it, but I can't"
I sighed as I leaned against the wall.
"Mom" I complained.
For some reason, my mom really wanted to play cupid with me.
"I am so incredibly proud of you honey. For the past five years, school and softball have been your main priority. I know you were heart broken when Ivan broke up with you right before you left for school"
Mom saw a lot of the ugly crying, but she assured me everything would be ok.
"Don't you think it's time?"
"You were right" I told her.
She raised an eyebrow.
"With?"
