Chapter 4: The curse

Edward's POV

I was looking at these unknown persons in front of me wide-eyed. When I did this, I could see one of these persons doing it too. That was the moment when a shiver went down my spine. They looked the exact same, and somehow I recognized them from somewhere. When I looked around me there were still only two persons in the room, so the other one has to be John...

When I realized this, I looked John straight in his green eyes, which were some minutes ago blue. I looked at his hair, which is spiked up just like mine. When I could see his whole face, I could see his still plumb lips. His face was totally changed, I recognized some parts of his own, and some parts... from me.

That was when I looked at myself in the mirror again, and was surprised to see a thin, fit body. I looked at my hair, it was blond in case of brown. I looked further down and stopped at my plumber lips. All these parts has to be copied from John. All this made us look totally the same... twins. When I realized this I looked scared at John again, and could not hold myself back from screaming.

"Aaaahhh, what the hell has happened to us? How could this happen?" John screamed. That is the first time ever in my life that I have seen him scared. "I don't know, maybe you shouldn't have pressed the button John!!" I said kind of angry. "Oh hell no, did you expect that we would suddenly become twins?" John said really angry now. "Normally these kind of things don't happen Edward!!" I became kind of scared from him now, because I had never seen him this angry, and especially not with me. I think he is just very shocked from what happened.

"Yeah, you're right. But we can't go home like this, these wounds were maybe bad, but this will turn out even more ugly!" I said, already calmed down. I heard John sigh really deeply, and we started thinking. I couldn't think of any good idea, How Can You Solve This??

I saw John suddenly walking back to the book on the standard. I followed him and he started reading it. We haven't ever had Latin, so I don't know what he is trying at the moment.

"Edward, maybe there is a spell in this book which can turn us into our normal self again?" John said. "Yeah, but how do we know which one it is? We have never had Latin." I said unsure. "Let's just try something." he said. I sighed really deeply. I was scared, scared of that what could happen, could go wrong.

John searched for the right spell, although he didn't understand anything of it. John found a spell, it sounded cool according to him. So he tried to speak the spell out loud. After that there was lots of light around us again, especially around my hands. I felt myself trembling again, until these lights were away. When I looked at John he still looked the same as before he spoke this spell out loud. When I looked at myself in the mirror I also still looked the same. What did happen to us then??

"Shit, Edward. We are still twins." I saw him searching again, but I stopped him. "Stop John, maybe if you do a spell again we will turn into snakes or something!! Well, I prefer to be twins!" I said a bit scared. John thought for a moment, we are hopeless. He nodded and we decided to leave this scary house. we walked really fast to the door and when we suddenly heard this scary voice. "Don't tell anybody what you have seen here... or otherwise..." this repeated a few times more, and it made me walk even faster. We run down the stairs and reached the front door. We left the house and saw the torches suddenly light more up, what caused it to set the whole house on fire. We stood meters away from the house, but could still feel the warmth on our body. We watched it until the house was fully burned down. We were both breathing heavily and ran away. I was surprised that I could suddenly run so fast, but I think I copied it from John, just like his fit body.

We run home and when we almost reached my house I asked this question: "How are we going to explain this to my parents, and Yours?" I said out of breath. John shrugs, showing me he didn't know too. So we pressed the doorbell and waited it to open...

When it opened, I was looking my mother straight in her eyes. She first probably didn't noticed it was us so I said: "Hi mum..." really unsure. "Hi Susanna.." John said in the same tone.

My mother looked at us wide-eyed, and her jaw dropped a few seconds later, just like our reaction when we discovered this. "How, How could this-" She said, but I interrupted her. "It is a really long story." "but you won't believe anything of it" John said. "Just tell me!! I've been really worried about you! and I was right" my mother said, scared from what was coming.

"Well, You first have to know that John and me were bullied at school." "What?!" my mother said angry. "Not physically, until today" John said. "They tried to beat John up and I tried to help him but failed. We didn't like to go home with all those wounds, so we tried to clean it somewhere." I said. "That was when Edward saw this forest where he wanted to draw something. I looked around an discovered this really cool old house. But it wasn't a normal house..." John said. "John pressed a button and that was when we suddenly were twins, we tried to solve it, but it did not work." I said. My mother's mouth dropped again and it was silence for a moment. But that was when she became really angry. "Why do you guys always have to adventure?" That was when John also become really angry and hit his fist on the table. It shocked me what happened now. Through he hit his fist on the table he set it on fire. How could this happen? How can he suddenly set a table on fire? Did this maybe happen when he did this spell, because our hands were light up very much back then, probably.

"How did you do that??!!" my mother asked. "I don't know!" I took a glass of water but because I tightened my hand to much around it, my hands also did some magic on the water, it was frozen now. WHAT THE HELL!! To let it melt again, I made from my hand a fist again, just like John did. I threw it on the fire. I was breathing really heavily because of all that what happened. I looked at John and my mother, and John was kind of smiling, I don't know why. "OMG, that was so cool!!" John said totally excited. My mother didn't say anything, and it was silence, again.

"But what do we have to do now? We can't go to school like this, people will know about it. They know that we weren't twins" I said panicky. "This voice told us not to tell it to anybody..."

"Well, maybe you guys have to go to another school..." my mother said. "and move to another town."

"Yeah, those people at our school won't miss us anyway, maybe they won't bully us there." I said. "But John, you know that twins normally live together, I mean..." my mother said. "You mean I have to move with you guys? but what would my parents think?" John said. "I will talk to them, and look for another house. You guys will go to another school already Monday!!"

John and me sighed really deeply and went upstairs. We settled our self on my bed. "I think it will be awesome John, we always have lots of fun together." He only nodded. I got up and stood in front of my mirror, checking out my reflection. If I say it myself I look...handsome. I'm not fat anymore and my blond hair is just amazing.

John came standing next to me, and I could see a copy of myself. Really cool, isn't it?

We saw this glass of water standing and did our magic on it. But suddenly it went wrong because it went out of the glass somehow. We had to laugh really much and cleaned it. I seriously can't wait to live in this new house and go to a new school. The main part of this all is that I do it with my best friend, my twin from now...
