Chapter One - Being Named As A Grown Woman

-----

GRACE'S POV

"Well, I guess you could say that," I said with an evil chuckle on the conference call with Alison and Sierra, my two life long best friends.

"Sure, why not! You're always on the 'Iron Man' team. You'll love me praising him." Alison commented with a tinge of sarcasm laced in her voice. I had to let out a giggle and I did.

"I relish it. I never said I didn't fancy Captain America, but the only fact I never believed he could make me forget my Iron Man." I responded with a big smile still attached on my face and she laughed.

"Guys, don't disregard Thor, he is the hottest of all." Butted in Sierra after a long silence and hearing our bickering. I and Alison laughed.

"Sure, he is," I commented sarcastically and she purred. I shook my head at her behaviour towards the 'Thor' topic.

Just two were enough to make my life, into heaven or living hell.

"I miss you so much, Gracey. It's f*cking hell without you. I miss us having the entire Marvel fight. Also, I have to clean my room with my own hands. Damn, I miss you." Alison had to cuss for cleaning with a taunt, I just groaned.

"I was happy fighting, why did you have to bring the cleaning in between?" I snorted and I put on some light natural make-up, as I got ready for work.

"Ali, don't forget she cleaned because half of the mess was because of her clumsiness." Sierra taunted, too. I snorted, in my defence.

"Guys?! You put it that way and blame on me? That's pretty mean now." I said as I halted halfway through my lipstick to justify myself.

"Grace Mary Duncan..." Sierra started and I needed to cut her off.

"Okay, okay, Mother hen, I know I'm clumsy but that doesn't mean you get to brand me for everything. Apart from that, I perform my work conscientiously." I defended myself. They both chuckled.

"Sure, you do." They both said in unison and then jinxed like kids. I laughed at their antics even though I was on a 'defending' mode.

"Well, apart from all your clumsiness, I miss you. It's been quiet silence and less sarcasm in the air." Sierra said and chuckled and I just smiled.

"And less sweetness and drama, too." Alison chimed in with a small sad smile of her own.

"Guys, it's no time to make me weep when I have to get out for work in five! I'll look like a zombie." I scolded both of them and they just chuckled.

"Sure. Are Lee and Lyra coming for the weekend?" Sierra asked me and I let out a big sigh.

"Yeah, their babysitter is off for the while, so I offered to help. It has been long enough that I didn't spend time with them." I said and gave a thought to it.

"You know we are not gonna be there this time and you gonna face the naughtiest kids on the planet all alone?" Alison chuckled as she informed me about my situation.

"Course, Ali! I think I can manage. Even though, I'm alone this time. Anyways, after you guys left for work to different cities, we haven't taken them to babysit anyway, so I thought it'd be good to catch up." I informed them and they had a thoughtful moment.

"Aww, look at our Gracey all grown up into a mature person," Alison commented and I laughed at her response.

"Ali! I'm a grown woman." I snorted.
