Chapter Sixty - Being Named As An Angel.
-----
GRACE'S POV
I was thinking about all the things that were happening and will happen in the future. It was so much to take in and analyze the situation. I was comparing how things were before and how they were now.
Before, I liked a guy who was arrogant and wouldn't let into his emotions and who always noticed everything. Now, he was one of the billionaire and young whose life was always on the display.
Before, only we mattered because no one knew about us. But now, the world will be on our back every moment we spend together. Our life was pure and private, and now, it will be polluted and displayed on TVs.
The car jerked to a stop and then I was pulled out of my reverie. I looked around to find the car parked on a very busy street. I looked at the driver confused, as to why we stopped here.
"Why are we here?" I asked him and he looked me through the mirror. The way he looked at me, I felt conscious.
"Ma'am, I'll go pick up sir. The busy place will keep the reporters away. So, if you'll just wait here." He said and I nodded and got down the car as soon as possible. As the car left, I realized that neither did I have my phone nor money.
I looked around and found a bench and sat at the corner. I waited and waited but no one came to pick me up. I waited there, tapping my foot and I couldn't be calmed off. I wonder what took him so long.
He just wanted your body, now that you've given yourself to him, he discarded you. Shut up, brain! I know my Alex, he'd never do that. I saw his emotions towards me.
I'll just wait.
It was almost late afternoon. It could be more than two or three hours that I was waiting and still no sign of him. I felt my face a little damp and I realized that I'd been crying.
I looked down at my hand where the ring Alex gave me was. I played with it, remembering the sweet times we had. A tear finally fell on the ring.
I wiped away my tears and immediately walked around to find a telephone booth. I had to ask for help, there was no other way. I wouldn't give up so easily.
I turned by the corner and noticed a man with a huge camera and with him was another man and he had a mic in his hand. I looked to their sign and indeed there was a big van with an Italian news board on it.
I thought about going there and asking them to help me, at least Alex would know where to find me. I took two steps ahead and realized my face will be posted on headlines if I did that. I backed away immediately.
I walked straight ahead. I wanted to stop a random person and ask for help but I was scared who was going to help and who was going to flash my face on the TV. As per my previous thoughts, I walked to find a telephone booth.
I finally found one. It was a small shop with three telephones lined after a specific interval. I rushed inside to find a man, maybe the owner of the shop, sat reading a newspaper.
"Excuse me, can I use the phone?" I asked and the man looked at me and then nodded. I was nervous to know if he'll let me use the phone if he knew I had no money.
"I...I don't have money. I'm lost." I said and waited for him to either help me or kick me out of his shop.
"Make the call. I help the tourist." He said and I felt relief ran through me but I was worried about what Alex might be saying.
