Chapter Forty-Four - Being Named As An Honest Person.

-----

GRACE'S POV

I'm shaking.

I could say that. What just happened was a surprise to me or a shock, that I couldn't decide. Alex just came in the room and just said these words that melted but heart, but I still wanted him to suffer for he did to me and played all the little games.

At first, it was Dory because she came knocking for the last hour like three times. I didn't want to talk to anyone for I've been crying since I woke up again. I woke up because of a nightmare where I saw Mom dying in front of my eyes.

I couldn't fall asleep after that, so, I just sobbed remembering her and all the good memories that we've spent and followed my those, I cried at how things were currently going. So much of a rollercoaster ride was not what I was expecting when I started liking him.

I sighed and turned as I heard the door click. I immediately went and put the notch, locking it from being further invaded. I sat on the bed and after, what felt like a thousand years, I finally dared to look at the bag that Alex had left here.

I opened it and found a box. I took a deep breath and opened the box and found the same chain that I had seen and liked at the jewelry store today. The moon pendant. I shut my eyes and hugged the chain.

I looked back at the door, wanting Alex to still be there so I could tell him how I felt. But he wasn't. I definitely wouldn't give it to him, this soon. I'll really let him suffer. I looked back at the pendant and remembered what Mr.Bose had said,

"A loved one gifts to their partner dedicating that he or she is the moon to their dark sky."

I couldn't stop the happy tears that rolled down my face. I sighed and carefully placed it in the box and kept it inside and kept it in the bag. I sat on my bed and this time, I successfully fell asleep.

-----

It was Friday and only one day away from Celia's birthday. I and Alex hadn't faced each other ever since our last encounter. I wanted to talk to Dory but had left for the mansion early morning for tomorrow's big party. I sighed.

I sat in the office working double the speed because I had to leave early today. I had to be somewhere. Sierra and Alison will be here in the evening, I wanted to talk to them about everything because tomorrow's gonna be the big day.

"Can I leave?" I asked him on the phone. I wasn't ready to see him.

"Are you fine? Is everything alright? Are you unwell? Are you feeling like fainting? Did you eat anything? Are you cold? Are..."

"Alex!" I paused his long list.

"Yes?"

"I...I'm fine. I...I'm just going to meet Sierra and Ali." I told him and I sighed.

"Oh, I'm glad you are okay. Just take Dylan with you, it's a request." He said and I couldn't deny him.

"Okay, I will," I said slowly. Something about this conversation was odd. Alex didn't sound arrogant, he sounded... caring. Like, he was finally showing his emotions.

"Be home, soon. Take care." He said and I felt something inside me flutter. 'Home', this word made me feel a thousand emotions. Not every place you stay home until you are surrounded by people who love you.
