Chapter Thirty-Four - Being Named As A Forgetful Person.

-----

GRACE'S POV

I successfully dodged Alex every time. Like, making breakfast and leaving a note, instead of calling him for breakfast. Calling him on the intercom and getting him to the conference, instead of going to his cabin, also, not looking him in the eyes.

Once the meeting was over, I and Martin walked into my cabin. I told him what happened after he left, Alex's drunk statements and all.

"Why are you smiling, idiot?" I asked him when I saw a big smile on his face.

"He likes you, Grace. Why the cry?" He asked me and I gave him a look.

"Martin, he also thinks I'm your girlfriend." I gave him a poker face.

"Who didn't think that in the college. Everyone thought that we were a couple. That never bothered you before, why now?" He asked me and I was speechless.

"I didn't like anybody in college back then and now I do. And Alex wouldn't me mine because of that misunderstanding. And he is your brother, so he'd never try on his brother's girlfriend." I reasoned out.

"So? We'll clear out things for him." I shook my head at his suggestion and he gave me a look.

"He could've asked me once about everything. He self-imagined everything. And I gave him so many hints that I liked him and he'd think that I was dating you? What kind of girl does he think I was? A gold digger? Trying on both the billionaires?!" I spat angrily and angry tears rushed down my eyes.

"Babe, no. I know you and he knows you, too. He never felt love, Grace. Only once and she was the wrong choice. He doesn't know how things work. He treated women like shit, for he can get any." He hugged me tightly and caressed my back.

"Don't worry, babe, everything will be fine. He'll know everything and feel guilty and maybe, apologize and confess while sober, too." He said and I nodded.

I liked Alex and I wanted to be with him, but he needed to know what was the truth on his own, I wasn't going to try to tell him until he'd ask things on his own. And he should know what my worth was.

Even though he was a billionaire, it wouldn't make me budge on my decision, for I liked him and not his money.

I, Martin and Alex were out on lunch. Alex had proposed a lunch or I and Martin would be having a good time rather than all of us sitting like it was a funeral.

"Well, I just hope we get our orders soon," Martin said as his stomach made a noise.

"I could hear that!" I commented and we both laughed.

"Alex, you could talk, right?" Martin said and to Alex and he nodded. He looked like he was in some kind of trance.

"It's Celia's birthday this weekend. What did you get her?" Alex asked and I remembered about Martin mentioning a sister to me.

"Oh, Jesus! I forgot. I would've died if I didn't get her a present." We both laughed at Martin's antics.

"Martin, don't worry. We'll get her something." I assured him and he gave me a face. I didn't get him.

"Excuse us," Martin said and dragged me away from Alex's earshot.

"What happened?" I asked him in a hushed tone even if we were far.
