Chapter Fourteen - Being Named As A Liar.
-----
GRACE'S POV
Sierra and Alison came home, looking tired, exhausted and even...angry. I gulped down looking at them. I walked and got some cool water and gave it to them.
I knew they'd be angry when home, so I had already ordered pizza. It should come any moment and save me from all the yells and betrayal taunts they'd gonna say to me.
"Grace, it wasn't..." The bell rang and I had a huge smile on my face. I was saved by the bell. I couldn't have been any happier. I walked to the door with a bounce in my step.
I opened the door and was greeted by...a postman. He gave me a letter and I signed on the paper he told me to. I muttered a thank you and shut the door walking inside with the letter.
I opened the letter carefully. It was a very posh letter if you understand what I mean. The paper was so thick and smooth. It had a logo printed on the side.
I read the letter and realized it wasn't a letter, it was...an appointment letter? My eyes widened and I looked at them, who still gave me angry looks.
"Guys! It's an appointment letter!" I squealed loudly. They both gave me bored expressions and when I widened my eyes at them, they realized.
"What?" They both yelled and I nodded.
"That was fast," Alison commented and I gave her a perplexed look. Her eyes widened, momentarily but she looked at Sierra.
"She meant, you were searching for a job and you found it so fast. That's one hella luck you got there, Grace." Sierra said trying to act peachy but I saw through. But, I let it go.
"That's amazing!" Alison said again and then they both hugged me. There were another bell and this time I had known who could be at the door.
I casually walked and opened the door. My breathing hitched in my throat. I didn't think he'd be here for any reason. I blinked my eyes to believe that it was him I was staring.
"Uhm...what? I mean want are you doing here? Why did you..." I couldn't say anything more because he kept a finger on my lips. Now I definitely couldn't talk!
"You just have to keep this ring with you, no matter what. Don't tell about it to anyone. Just, don't argue." He said and put a ring on my left-hand ring finger. He bent down and placed a swift kiss on my cheeks.
My eyes widened.
Alex just kissed my cheek. Second time today!
"See you later, Miss Clumsy. And don't remove the ring. I warn you." He warned me and got down and in his car. He sat in the car and drove off.
I knew he was a driver. How judgy! I commented to myself.
The ring was a simple platinum band with a diamond on top, making the ring look elegant in its simple way. I smiled looking at the ring. It was beautiful, to say so.
"Who was at the door, Grace?" Alison asked. I put my hand behind me to hide the ring. Alex had warned not to remove it.
"Uhm... someone...for address." I lied to her as I shut the door. I can't believe, I was lying to my childhood friends for a guy I knew for a day!
"Okay."
There went another bell. I was almost getting tired of opening doors for unexpected people. I opened the door and there was it...the fr*aking pizza for which I was waiting for. I sighed. I took the pizza and yelled for one of them.
