Chapter Eighteen - Being Named As A Late Comer.

GRACE'S POV

I had made Alex rush out of the house and drop me home. He might be my boss, but he was my friend first, so I had that much right on him. Friend? My brain snapped and I pushed that question far away.

But also he was the one who asked me to treat like I did, so I did. It wasn't my fault anyway.

The ride was silent as I fell asleep again. I was being so sleepy the whole while and even Alex didn't say anything. He remembered my address and dropped me right on my front door.

Memories of the earlier night followed and a blush crept on my face. I shook those thoughts away. I needed to get away and get ready and go to a new job and I should be thinking about it, rather than Alex.

"Thank you. I shall see you in the office." I said and awkwardly stepped back. Alex gave me a longing look for some reason I was unknown and he then sped off without a word.

It was very unusual for him. I had always seen Alex with a smile, a smirk or even a hard face but never had I seen him looking at me like this. Like, he wanted to say something but then he didn't.

I walked into my house and shut the door behind me. I got into the shower directly and let water flow down my body and take my stress away, for I finally got a new job, I was happy.

I had to inform friends and everybody about the new job and everything. I had to. But now was not the right time. I'll surprise them when they come home, to a new home. I smiled to myself.

It was already 5.30 a.m and I had to be in the office at 8.00 A.M. It took almost 30 minutes to reach the office. And the bus came at 7.15 A.M and the stop was almost a 15-minute walking distance.

In short, I had one hour thirty minutes to kill. I definitely can sleep for one hour and then get ready later. It'll be amazing. I fell asleep on the couch itself, I felt at peace, for finally have found everything I wanted.

The alarm croaked and I snoozed it for two minutes.

That's what I felt that I snoozed because I had switched off the alarm and it was 7.12 A.M when I woke up. I had to run because I at least had to catch the bus that came at 7.30 A.M  to be on time.

I immediately took a bath and ran down my closet for a dress. I found the second pair of formals left by Ali and Sierra, a light grey shirt and dark grey skirt. I immediately changed into them and got ready to run for my work.

I mentally reminded myself to shop for more formal clothes as I could not stay by only two.

I reached the office, in a hurry burry. And it was 8.03 A.M on my first day itself. I mentally groaned that I was late. I took an elevator and went on the top floor.

And there was my floor; 24. I immediately rushed inside his cabin without knocking and landed while he was taking his shirt off. I gulped down.

Who does change in their office?!

Seeing a naked man was a new experience for me and then it was Alex. He paused to smirk at me but then he let it be open and raised a brow at me.
