Chapter Twenty Five - Who is lying?

Anna and Lucas stayed in Don Romualdo's room for a couple of hours and they still don't have a clue. Their theory is that, Don Romualdo did killed his self but they can't find an evidence that will make sure their theory.

They search and looked at it really carefully. Their investigation stopped when the knob is clicking, "Hide." Lucas said.

"The door is locked! Someone is inside! Call Señora Margareth!" one of the maid said.

Anna looked at the map and found out that her room is connected to Don Romualdo's room through a mirror, and the password is My princesa.

"We have to leave." Lucas said

"I will go and see the fraud Lady Theresa! I want to talk to her." Anna said.

"We have no time. Let us leave now." Lucas said.

"No! I have to persuade her to come with us, go back. I will be okay." Anna said.

Lucas just nodded, "Be safe." he said.

He went back to the secret passage that they've used earlier while Anna used the password and entered. The guards were late because the momebt they've opened the door there no people anymore. Anna successfully arrived at her room. She hide under the table. She saw a pistol and took it.

A moment later, the fraud lady Theresa went out of the bathroom and she looks really excited, but Anna was shocked. That woman is familiar because that was Gaston's girlfriend. So that means that Gaston is here? She asked herself.

"This is the time that you are waiting for, Veronica." The fraud lady told herself.

Veronica was preparing for the engagement party. Anna went out of the table and put the pistol on Veronica's head, "Make some noise and I will shot this right away." Anna warned.

Veronica's happiness turned into fear, "Please... Do. Not. Hurt me..." she begged.

"What are you doing in my room?! Why did you claimed that you are Princess Theresa Casedona?! Why?!" Anna asked angrily.

Veronica is trembling, "I am sorry... Señora Margareth wanted me... I am sorry, Miss." she said while shaking, "All I ever wanted is to be accepted, and I don't wanna go back anymore and Señora Margareth would kill me. Forgive me, forgive me."

"Gaston, loves you so much and you are lying to him! You are lying to everyone! You are selfish!" Anna exclaimed.

"You do not understand, Gaston will never be loved me if I didn't lied to him. If I didn't tell him that I am the Governor's son back in my town and now that I am the lost heiress of Casedona. I am sorry, but I need this, I need Gaston."

"Gaston loves you because of wealth, he is not that person. He loves you, but you are lying. It is you who loves Gaston because of wealth! It is you who will take advantage in him and you use my name! How can you sleep at night? Is this the kind of life you want to give to your offspring? You want to die as Princess Theresa Casedona while the truth is you are no part of my family!" Anna said.

"I am not using Gaston, Miss." Veronica said.

"Prove it. State the truth to all the people out there including Gaston. Tell them that Señora Margareth asked you to do it, tell Gaston everything." Anna said.

"I can't." Veronica said crying, "I can't be a slave again. I can't be poor again, I can't." she said.

*Door opens*

Anna went shocked so she grabbed Veronica and put the pistol on her head. The guards were there and also Margareth, Agatha, Gaston and some of the people at their engagement.

"Help me! Help! She is trying to kill me!" Veronica yelled.

Margareth became terrified, "Oh no! My niece! My niece!"

"Anna, put down the pistol, you are better than that." Gaston said and he is shaking.

"One step closer and I will fire this to Veronica!" Anna warned.

Everyone are so scared and Veronica is scared too.

"You know me, Gaston. I know that you know that I am no victim here. Veronica, tell them, tell them now!" Anna yelled.

"Anna, let go of Veronica. Please, we can talk about it. I know we can." Gaston is still shaking and smiled a little to Anna.

"Why don't you tell us everything, Margareth? Why don't you tell us that you just paid for Veronica to play as me and fool everyone including Gaston?" Anna said

"Stop lying please!" Veronica exclaimed, "Aunt, do something!" Veronica said.

"It is you who is lying, Anna. It is you!" Margareth yelled back.

The pistol stayed in Veronica's head, "I will never bring it down unless you said that truth!" Anna exclaimed.

Everyone at the party are all afraid. Even the guards having a hard time to save Veronica. Gaston went out of the room and Margareth is being so terrified, not because of Veronica but because of what Anna is keep on saying.

"Where is Joaquin?! Where did you brought him?" Anna yelled until the pistol slipped in her hands. Veronica had the chance to run through Margareth. Anna saw Gaston, and Gaston was behind it.

Anna managed to get the pistol at the time where Gaston managed to climbed at the window, Anna fired the pistol to Veronica but it was wrong person, and it was Gaston.

"No." she said.

"My son!!!!!"
