Tris Pov:

The first wave of the Republic forces meets us right as we enter the city. Tobias as I tried to stay close to Brecken and Ryan, due to the fact they know where we need to go. That proved difficult, because of the large mass of rebel forces every where.

"We have to find Brecken." I yell to Tobias over the first round of gunfire.

"I know." He yells back. I watch his eyes scan the Rebels rushing past us into the city. Tobias lifts up his hand and point about 50 yards to our left. "There."

I look over to see Christina standing next to Ryan. They appear as if they are searching the crowd as well. I grab Tobias hand, and drag him over to the direction of Christina.

"There you guys are!" Christina shouts as we make our way over to her.

"Where is Brecken?" Tobias questions. Brecken is the one who will direct us.

Ryan shrugs his shoulders. "If I remember right, him, Uriah, and Zeke already went into the city."

"Ryan!" I yell. "Lead the way. We have to go!" It is a bad idea to be standing in the middle of a war zone for too long.

I feel a hand grab my shoulder. I spin around and  lodge my elbow into my attacker's face. "OWW!" Derek yells. "What is your problem?"

"Your the one with a problem. You should know not to go around grabbing people in the middle of a war." I pause While he gives me a glare. "You are the one who just now decided to tell us your name like five minutes ago. Oh, and you also shot my foot a few days ago."

"Tris." Tobias gives me a stern look. "I don't like him either, but he is not the kind of person to make angry."

"Where is everyone?" Ryan asks Derek.

"They already went in. We were supposed to follow them." Derek touches his hand to his left eyebrow, where I hit him. "Lets go!"

Derek runs ahead, and we all follow him. As soon as the buildings start get taller, Derek takes a turn down an alleyway. I guess he is trying to avoid all contact, so we can reach the capital building.

Every once in a while, we would round the corner and a few Republic soldiers would be there. They didn't stand a chance.

We kept running until Derek stops dead in his tracks. He holds his index finger to his lips, to signal for us to be quiet. He then points ahead of him. We must be getting close to the building.

I watch as Derek pulls out a walki-talkie. "Pop the green smoke." He whispers. Derek pockets the walkie and turns to face us. "Right around this building, is the capital building. The smoke is a sign for the helicopters to make there way in, and clear out the soldiers." Derek pauses. "We have a small time window here. Once all the Republics forces see where we are attacking, they will drop everything and make there way over here."

Derek turns around and leads us around the building. As soon as we round the corner, there is mass panic everywhere. There is green smoke  all over the front of the tall, elegant capital building. Republic soldiers are rushing around trying to figure out where the smoke came from. The noise of the approaching helicopters fills the air.

Derek pulls out his walkie again. "Fire all targets please. Oh, and if your name is Brecken, move to back up plan protocol." Derek puts the walkie back and we all watch as the helicopters spit out bullets. One by one, the Republic soldiers drop.

"Backup plan?" Ryan questions.

"It is the back up plan." Derek says bluntly.

"Thanks captain obvious." Ryan retorts.
