I could feel the soft, warm, padded hands that kept me sane being placed on my cheeks.

His shadow causing my already dark vision to dim as he got progressively closer to my face.

I smiled while hearing his heavy breathing, knowing he had a hard time climbing onto my bed.

"Wake up, Mumma." He whispered, stroking the bridge of my nose with his index finger.

My eyes fluttered open at the sound of his voice, "Good morning, baby boy." I smiled, kissing his nose.

He giggled hysterically, rubbing the tip of his nose up and down.

"Are you hungry?" I grinned, sitting up with him on my lap.

"Nope," He grinned, "I already got breakfast all for myself."

"Oh, did you now?" I questioned, raising one eyebrow.

"Yup! I made muddles and orange juice." He smiled proudly.

"Should we go clean up your mess then?" I laughed, taking his chin into my thumb and index finger as he lowered his head, knowing the state of the kitchen.

"You're going to fall, angel." I smiled, rolling my eyes playfully.

"I a big boy, Mummy." He explained, cupping my cheeks.

"Maybe too big," I laughed to myself, "Hurry so we can get to Auntie Lau's." I smiled as he showed me what toy he wanted.

Not a day goes by where he doesn't cross my mind. Not a glimpse of my favourite little human passes where it doesn't remind my of him. But, that's a part of my past and I'm not one to go backwards.

"Angelo!" Laura laughed, engulfing him into one of her infamous hugs.

"Mummy!" He gasped, making me laugh and Laura let him go.

"Addie." Laura grinned, now hugging me.

"How are you, babe?" I smiled, returning the squeeze.

"Would've been better if you two showed up more frequently, rather than making me wait for a month." She scolded me.

"I'm sorry," I frowned once I pulled away, "We've been busy."

"You're forgiven. Make sure it doesn't happen again." She warned me.

"You have my word." I chuckled.

I followed her into the kitchen, taking a seat at the island.

"So where's Dani?" I asked her, taking the cup of tea she handed me.

"Probably off somewhere with Angelo. You know how much he loves that boy." She smiled, taking a sip from her mug.

"Everyone seems to." I grinned, playing with the ring on my finger.

"Have you given any more thought towards our little conversation we had last time we spoke?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You know it's not happening, Laura. Not a chance." I sighed, looking out of the window and into the garden to find Angelo on his back while Daniel, Laura's husband, tickled him. His infectious laugh could be heard from throughout the house.
