I was practically chewing on my bottom lip, waiting for Simon to arrive with Millie.
It's not my first time ever meeting her but, I'm pretty sure she'll hardly remember me. Last time I saw her she was three.
"Is she nice?" Angelo asked quietly.
He wasn't entirely sure what was going on yet. Simon and I thought it would be better to explain it to them both at once, rather than repeating it.
"I'm sure she's very nice, baby." I smiled softly, pulling him onto my lap.
"You sure?" He asked again.
I sighed, resting my chin on top of his head, "I am. Don't worry."
I was trying to reassure both myself and him.
Hearing a car engine outside, I stood up and made my way to the front door with Angelo on my hip.
I took a deep breath before opening the door. I watched as Simon walked down the path behind his skipping double.
"Hello!" She grinned once she reached me.
She took after Simon in more ways than one. She's always been this little bubble of energy and confidence.
"Hi, sweetie." I grinned back, lowering Angelo and I to her height.
"Millie, do you remember Adele?" Simon asked, stopping behind us.
"I don't think so, sorry." She frowned, shaking her head.
"Lets go inside." I suggested, before the conversation progressed.
I guided them into the living room, still with Angelo on my hip.
"Do you want a biccy or anything, baby?" I asked him, trying to make him a little more comfortable.
He shook his head as I placed him on the couch. I turned to face Millie.
"What about you, honey?" I asked with a warm smile.
"You say biccy too!" She exclaimed in excitement, a wide smile on her face.
I looked at Simon in confusion.
"Ever since you began saying that to her, she's never stopped. Her mum and I don't use it and she always gets angry when we try correct her." He smiled.
"They're always like, 'no, it's biscuit, blah blah blah.' It's not very nice." She frowned, looking at me.
"You call it what you want." I nodded, stifling a small laugh, "Would you like one?" I asked again.
"No, thank you." She smiled.
"Okay, Millie you know this is Adele, yeah?" Simon started.
She nodded, "Yeah, you just told me like five minutes ago."
"Well what if I told you that you've known Adele for a while?" He said slowly.
"Have I?" She asked, looking from me to Simon.
"You were very little the last time you saw her but, she used to be your favourite person after your mummy and I." He smiled.
"Even more favourite than gammy and papa?" She asked, stunned.
He chuckled lightly, "Even more favourite than them."
"Then why don't I remember you?" She asked, her attention on me.
"The last time you saw me, you were about three." I started, "Your mind doesn't remember much until you're a little bit older."
"Did I used to know him?" She asked, looking towards Angelo.
I shook my head, "Angelo was only in my belly the last time I saw you."
"Hi, Angelo." She smiled, acknowledging his name.
He smiled back slightly, "Hiya."
"Can I have a drink please?" She suddenly asked.
Simon laughed at her sudden randomness as I just smiled and nodded.
"Are you going to stay here with daddy?" I asked Angelo.
He nodded while I motioned for Millie to follow me.
"What would you like?" I asked, getting a cup for her.
"Milk please." She grinned.
"You know, you used to call me Elle." I smiled, "You struggled saying my name properly."
Her eyebrows furrowed as I explained, "I think I remember someone with that name." She smiled.
"It's okay if you don't." I smiled at her again.
"I'm trying really hard to." She sighed while I handed her the milk.
"Lets go so daddy can finish the story."

"Wait. You and Adele are married?" She was utterly confused.
"We are." Simon nodded.
"Like husband and wife?" She asked again.
"Yes, Mills." He sighed slightly.
"Which means, you and Angelo are brother and sister." I chimed in.
"He's my brother?" She replied. I nodded warily and watched her as she burst into a grin, "I've always wanted a brother!"
"But how do you feel about me and your dad?" I asked, "Are you okay with it?"
"Yeah, I like you a lot." She shrugged with a smile.
I released a huge breath. If Simon and I were going to work on us then we needed the support of those most important to us.

S
imon had just gotten back from dropping Millie home and we were currently sitting on the couch.
There was a question that was eating away at me and I know it would only spark an argument but, I felt the need to know.
"Simon?" I spoke quietly.
I had the right to know.
"Yeah?" He replied, turning to look at me.
I just had to come right out and say it.
"Did you ever..." I began to trail off. I cleared my throat before continuing, "Did you ever sleep with Clary?"
The day we had was great and I knew this was going to dampen the mood.
He was clearly taken aback and, he too, cleared his throat before answering.
"Once." He nodded, taking his eyes away from mine.
"Simon." I said, raising an eyebrow.
"Okay, maybe more than once." He sighed, "It's not as if you were a saint." He shrugged.
I scoffed at that comment. I know I told him I had been with a few guys but, I'd never slept with them. I'd kissed them, yeah but, I couldn't go that far.
I just shook my head, standing from the couch.
"Where are you going?" He sighed, standing and taking a hold of my wrist.
"I didn't want an argument out of this, although it was inevitable." I muttered the last part.
"You told me yourself you had been with guys. What gives you the right to get upset and not me?"
"I'm going to bed." I sighed, turning away from him again.
"Adele-"
"Don't bother coming up until you've calmed." I said, making my way upstairs.
I felt bad for starting something but, I wanted to know.
A/N I'm back at school tomorrow n i cba. This is really bad but yeah.
