"But mummy, he's been on time out for so long!" Angelo exaggerated.
It had only been two weeks since I had last seen Simon. Of course he had been trying to phone and text me, but I never answered.
"Darling, mummy and daddy aren't talking right now, okay? I promise you'll get to see him soon."
I know it wasn't fair of me to keep Simon from Angelo but, I just couldn't face him. I was so incredibly angry, I couldn't predict what I was going to do.
"I know I'm being a little selfish baby, and I'm sorry. But, mummy's just a little upset right now. All you need to know is that me and daddy love you so incredibly much and always will."
"Forever and ever?" He mumbled, walking towards me.
"Forever and ever." I nod, taking him into my arms.
"I'm not mad, mummy." He said, his face hiding in my hair, "I still love you."
"I love you too, gorgeous." I smiled sadly.
"You're my favouritist." He grinned, looking up at me.
"And you're mine." I laughed softly.

"Dada!" Angelo's squeals of joy echoed around the house.
I had finally put my own feelings to the side and allowed Simon to see Angelo.
I was sat in the study while Laura handed off Angelo. I still couldn't stand the sight of him.
"Wait, wait, wait!" I could hear Angelo yell.
Small footsteps were heard coming towards me and the door to the study was pushed open.
The impact of Angelo throwing himself at me cause the chair to tip backwards slightly as I let out a scream and a loud laugh.
"I love you so very much my angel." I sighed, hugging him tightly.
"I'll miss you." He pouted.
"You'll be back soon, my love." I smiled.
He nodded, walking back through the door and closing it behind him.
Small murmers were heard afterwards.
"But daddy, mumma doesn't want to see you. You make her upset."
I exhaled heavily, resting my head in my hands.

Once Angelo and Simon had left earlier, Laura had given me a huge lecture on how I would have to face him soon and all that jazz.
She was right. Because, as soon as seven o'clock came, my eyes met his.
"Mummy, I missed you so much!" Angelo gushed, throwing his arms around me.
"I missed you too, baby." I smiled, lifting him onto my hip.
"Adele." Simon mumbled as I looked back at him.
"Say goodbye, sweetheart." I said to Angelo.
"Adele we need to talk." He sighed.
"I don't believe we do." I snapped back, taking Angelo's bag from him.
"I need to explain myself." His patience was wearing thin.
I sighed heavily, putting Angelo down.
"You go play, alright?" I said to him quietly. I turned back to Simon with my arms crossed, "Explain."
"It was the hardest decision I've ever had to make." He started. I scoffed instantly.
"You've got to understand. It was my daughter or-"
"Your pregnant wife." I cut him off.
"You never told me, Adele!" He raised his voice.
"You never gave me a chance! You were always away visiting Millie and, of course, I never had an issue. The night I was going to tell you, you handed me the divorce papers."
"You still could have told me." He said quietly.
"You were asking for a divorce. I was stunned, Simon." All the hurt from the past was washing over me. "I don't know what hurt most. When you asked for the divorce, or when you basically told me you allowed me to suffer for four years alone."
"Ade-"
"You allowed me to believe I was divorced for four years, Simon. I raised our child myself while you were busy playing house and hiding the fact we aren't divorced!" Tears had escaped by this point.
"I wanted to tell you."
"Then why didn't you, Simon? Why did it take you four years?"
"I was afraid you would hate me" his voice broke.
"Don't you get it? I love you, Simon. I would have been so incredibly pissed but, I would have taken you back in a heartbeat." It was true, and it still was.
"And now?" He simply asked.
"It'll take time but, that doesn't mean it's never going to happen." I admitted.
He slowly walked towards me, as if waiting for me to stop him but, instead, I inched towards him and threw myself at him.
"I love you so much, sunshine." He mumbled into my neck.
"I love you too." I smiled softly to myself.
