"You're kidding!" I shouted, instantly running downstairs.
Who in their right mind leaves those two together?
"God, I haven't seen you since before Adele and I got-"
"Good morning, baby!" I shouted, throwing my arms around his neck.
"Adele what-"
I rolled my eyes and smashed my lips against his own.
"Uhm... good morning." He mumbled, utterly confused.
"Simon, can I talk to you?" Laura asked.
"S-sure." He stuttered.
"Cathy, how are you?" I grinned, engulfing her into a hug.
"Just fantastic, dear." She smiled back.
"America treating you well?" I asked.
Cathy had moved to Carolina just under four years ago.
"Oh, it's wonderful. So many friendly people." She grinned, "but enough about me, what about you and that husband of yours?" She smirked.
"Same old, same old." I shrugged.
"Still travelling I take it?" She frowned.
"Most days," I nodded, "But I've got the little one to keep me company now." My smile instantly getting wider.
"Of course! I haven't seen you since you had the baby!" She said excitedly, "Where is the little guy?" She grinned.
"Probably with Simon. I'll go get him, yeah?" I asked, standing up.
"Please do." Her smile never faltering.
I made my way upstairs, hearing hushed whispers from my bedroom.
I walked in and all heads instantly turned to me.
"Morning, handsome." I grinned at Angelo.
"Morning." He yawned, wrapping his arms around me.
"I'm assuming you're caught up?" I turned towards Simon.
"That I am." He sighed.
"And you're alright with it?" I questioned.
"Of course I am." He nodded, a frown forming, "You're not?"
"I don't like lying to her." I sighed, "But it doesn't matter. It's only for a little while."
"What's going on?" Angelo asked, playing with my hair.
I looked at him with sad eyes, "Angelo, baby. How about we play a game?"
"Oh, what kind of game?" He asked excitedly.
"One where we all pretend that mummy and daddy are married." His poor little mind.
"Like lying?"
"No, no, no. Not lying baby. You know mummy doesn't like lying. It's just playing pretend. A game." This is all too much.
"Who's all playing?" He asked, looking up at me with those doe eyes.
"Everyone." I smiled.
"That's a really big gane." He grinned in excitement.
"So, do you want to play?" I asked, kissing his forehead.
"Of course! It sounds like so much fun."
"Great. Now do you want to come meet someone?" I smiled, walking downstairs with him.
"Who is it, mumma?" His brows furrowing.
As we continued to walk through to the living room, Cathy appeared in our view.
"Baby, this is granny Cathy." I grinned as she stared at him in awe.
"Oh, Delly. He's gorgeous." She smiled.
"He is, isn't he?" I laughed, squeezing him into a hug.
"Your spitting image. I'm sure Simon must envy you." She grinned.
"I sure do." A deep voice said from behind me, strong arms wrapping around my waist.
I feel my body instantly tense.
"Still as in love as always." Cathy swooned, admiring us.
"I'm sure." I muttered under my breath, moving away from Simon.
"You two should come out to dinner with us tomorrow night. We've got alot of catching up to do." She suggested, smile wide.
"I don't know, Cathy. Simon is working and I've got no one to watch Angelo." I sighed.
"Oh, please Delly. Make an old woman happy." She pouted with pleading eyes.
"I can take the day off, sunshine. And I'm sure you're mum will be more than happy to watch Angelo." Simon grinned.
"It's a little last minute." I said through gritted teeth.
"I'm sure we can make do." He nodded.
"Great, so I'll see you tomorrow?" Cathy grinned, standing up.
"I guess so." I sighed with a smile.
"Great! Laura will inform you later on." She nodded, heading to the door, "It was lovely seeing you again, Adele." She grinned, "Simon." She nodded towards him, still sniling.
He was in trouble.
Deep trouble.
