Noctis' POV

I wake up in my bedroom. Everything looks exactly the same as before I left Insomnia 10 years ago. That's strange, I remember fighting and defeating Ardyn so the starscourge could be purged. I had to die for it to happen too. So why am I in my room?

"Oh good your finally up. I thought you'd sleep forever." I heard a familiar voice say, giggling afterwards.

No, it couldn't be.

"(Y-Y/n)? Is that you?" I ask, tears filling my eyes and clouding my vision.

"Yeah Noct, it's me." She says before walking over to me and sitting on my bed.

"But...your dead."

"You too Noct."

As soon as she finishes her sentence I leap up and wrap my arms around her, sobbing loudly.

"(Y/n), I'm so so sorry! It's my fault you died! I-I should have protected you!" I sob louder into her shoulder, not wanting to let go of her. Afraid that she'd slip away once more.

"Noctis, it's not your fault. I'm the one who pushed you out of the way remember." She says soothingly.

"I was the one who got distracted though. I was the one who didn't see the MT trooper. I was just thinking about how beautiful your (h/l)
(h/c) hair looked in the wind as you fought, I wasn't paying attention to anything but you." My breath hitched and I continued to sob.

"Shhh Noct, it's ok." She says, stroking my hair slightly to comfort me.

This only causes me to sob louder. "N-no it's n-not ok. You d-died because of m-me."

The only thing I could think to do was hold her closer to me and cry into her shoulder.

She hugs me back and doesn't say anything. Letting me cry in silence, knowing her words could not change my mind.

"(Y/n), before you died, you were trying to tell me something, but you never got to finish. What was it?" I finally ask the question that has been burning in my mind ever since she died. Now that I'm finally going to hear it, I'm a bit nervous.

She hesitates for a second before speaking."I was going to say that I love you. I've always loved you, I just didn't say anything because you were betrothed to Lady Lunafreya."

Her sentence surprises me and my sobs fade a bit. "I, I love you too (y/n)."

She then pulls back from my hug slightly, holding my face in her hands as she presses her soft lips against mine. I widen my eyes in shock before closing them and kissing back. My sobs fading to none.

Our lips lock together passionately and her body melts into mine. I wish this moment would never end.

When we stop, I can't help but smile at her. She smiles widely back.

"Oh I almost forgot, the guys have been waiting for you to wake up." She says breathlessly.

"Wait, they're here?" I ask a little crestfallen. I was hoping they'd live a lot longer than me.

"Yeah the guys, Luna, King Regis, everyone!"

I had forgotten that I would be able to see everyone who died.

Not only would I be able to spend eternity with (y/n), but I can spend it with my dad and friends too.

"Well don't just sit there, let's go!" She shouts, grabbing my hand and pulling me off of my bed.

We burst through the door and out of my room, running as fast as we can to get to the others.

I look to the side and see her (h/l) (h/c) hair trailing behind her as she runs. It reminds me of just how beautiful she really is.

With (y/n) here with me, and all of my friends and family, I can't think of a better way to spend eternity.
