(Y/n)'s POV

'Ugh, I don't feel so good. Maybe I shouldn't have spent so long last night hunting daemons. It has been very cold lately...'

I sneeze for what feels like the billionth time and grab a tissue, blowing my nose. 'I think I'm sick. But I can't take time off, I have to help the guys.'

I decide to pretend like nothing is wrong with  me and head out of my hotel room.

"Morning (n/n)!" Prompto says cheerfully, walking over to me.

"Morning Pro-ACHOO! Sorry." I say, my voice sounding strange as a result of my stuffy nose.

"You don't sound so good, maybe you should rest." He says with worry.

"No! I'm fine, just don't tell anyone. I'm sure I'll feel better later."

"You shouldn't strain yourself, you could really get hur-" "I said I'm fine Prompto. In fact, I'm sure I can do things just as good as any other day. Maybe even better." I say stubbornly.

"Alright." He says uncertainly. "But you should at least tell Gladio-."

"Especially Gladio." I say, cutting him off. Of all people Gladio would be the one who'd make me take the day off. If it were anyone else it'd be fine but he's extremely cautious when it comes to me. He's a bit overprotective, although that is to be partially expected since he is my boyfriend.

I walk out of the hotel before he can say another word and head over to Noct.

"Morning Noct, are we going to do any hunts today?" I ask, trying to disguise my stuffy voice.

"Uh yeah. I was thinking of going to hunt this Behemoth that's near the Chocobo Post."

"Great! When can we go?" I say eagerly.

"Uh, now I guess. What's the rush?" He questions.

"There's no rush, I'm just excited to hunt." I say, forgetting to disguise my voice.

Noctis gives me a questioning look before going to tell the others about the hunt.

We all get into the Regalia after preparing for the hunt. I sit in the back between Noct and Gladio.

'Ok, just sit in silence. He won't notice if you don't say anything.'

"So (n/n), you haven't said a word to me all morning. Is something wrong?" He questions, turning his body toward mine.

'Shoot. I can't get anything past him.'

"Uh, no of course not." I do a surprisingly good job of disguising my voice towards the first part of my sentence but my voice sounds stuffy towards the end.

"Are you ok? Your voice sounds kind of funny..."

"Yeah I'm fine." I reply, a bit too quickly.

He gives me a question look before grabbing his book and reading, sensing I wanted to be left alone.

'That was close.'

The drive was long and a when we arrive at the Chocobo Post it was dusk. Prompto immediately jumps out of the car when Ignis parks. "Come on guys! Let's hurry and hunt this thing so we can see the chocobos!" He says excitedly.

"Alright alright, jeez." Noctis says, a small hint of laughter in his voice.

As we get out of the car, the wind starts to pick up and my teeth chatter loudly. My nose starts to run from the sudden temperature change and my throat starts to feel sore. 'Argh, stupid wind.'
