Puppy Dog Part I |Inu Prompto x Reader|

(Y/n)'s POV

"Awwww, look Prompto! It's so cute!!!" I say, petting the golden retriever that had randomly approached me.

Prompto walks towards me, a grin appearing on his face.

"Hey there buddy. Where did you come from?" Prompto asks, looking around Lestallum.

Prompto and I are currently spending the weekend in Lestallum without the rest of the guys. It was hard convincing them to let us spend a weekend together doing nothing productive, but in the end we did it.

"I don't know...maybe he's lost," I say, replying for the dog.

"We should help him find his owner then." Prompto says, reaching out to pet it. As soon as Prompto reaches out though, the creature clamps it's jaw around his hand, biting him.

"Ow ow OW!" Prompto yells, quickly pulling his hand back.

"Are you ok?!" I ask worriedly. I take his now bleeding hand and look at the teeth marks embedded in his skin.

"We should head back to the hotel and get that cleaned up," I say, letting go of his hand and standing up.

"But what about the dog? It's still lost." He says sadly.

'Wow, he just got bitten and he wants to find the owner to this dog? That's Prompto for you...'

Immediately after he said that however, a young boy, no older than 7,  ran up to the dog.

"Max! There you are boy, I was looking everywhere for you," he says, petting behind the dog's ear.

"Is this your dog?" I question.

"Yeah, Max likes to run off. He loves to play around. Was he any trouble?" He questions innocently. I stare into his wide brown eyes and decide not to tell him about the bite, it's not his fault anyway.

"No, of course not. Max was really sweet."

"Ok, bye." He says, grabbing Max by the collar and talking him into the crowd.

"Awww, I didn't get to pet him," Prompto whines.

"Come on, you'll get to pet a lot more dogs some other time. Right now, we need to get that bite cleaned."

He nods in agreement and we head back to the Leville.

"Ok, just hold still..."

"OW!" Prompto yells, pulling his hand away from me.

I sigh in annoyance and try to grab his hand again.

"Prompto, I know it stings, but I need to make sure it's not infected."

"But it hurts," he says, whining.

"I know. But this is the only way to make sure that you don't get an infection. You want to be able to protect Noctis, right?" He nods. "Well then you'll need both of your hands for that."

He looks down at his hand before looking at the bottle of disinfectant in my hands. He sighs sadly before giving me his hand again.

"Now, try not to move." I say, wetting the cloth with more disinfectant.

I put the cloth on his bite and he hisses in pain, but doesn't move.

I then pour some of the liquid on the bite and he flinches. I can tell he is in pain from the tears in his eyes but he's trying to keep as still as he can for me.

After 10 more minutes I'm satisfied and start wrapping his hand in a bandage. A few tears have leaked down his face and he's squeezing his eyes shut.
