Chapter 9

I woke up the next morning exhausted. I don't remember much from last night, except I had this really weird dream.

I was Friday and I had no work, so I could spend my day relaxing or I could find out more about this place.

This place is filled with hidden secrets, beyond belief. I had actually gotten the other girls number, who works the other shifts.

I was debating on whether talking to her about this place. But I already know so much and if she doesn't, I could scare her off.

But since it was probably for the best. I decided to message her.

I grabbed my phone and searched until I found her contact. I haven't messaged her yet, so I decided to slowly go into this conversation.

If I just texted her immediately asking her to meet up, it would seem a little suspicious, don't you think?

I quickly messaged her 'hey' and made my way downstairs.

My mom was sitting on the couch, with a book with her hand. It kind of reminded me of the old days. But since she had a lot of things going on, she dropped her hobbie and all she did was drugs.

Speaking of drugs, I haven't heard from her drug dealer. What had happened after I got knocked out?

"Hey mom." I replied with a smile.

She looked up at me and smiled. "Hey dear." She patted the couch beside her.

I took that as a cue and sat down. "No breakfast?" I chuckled.

"Nope. Decided to order in." She smiled.

"Oh okay." I began "hey, I'm curious to know what happened after I was knocked unconscious."

I don't know if it was the right time to ask, but I should be able to know, because I was the victim.

"Oh." She closed her book and sat it on her lap, not before placing her book mark between the pages.

She had a frown on her face. "Someone must've seen what had happened and called the cops immediately. They got here in time. You were taken to the hospital, while he was put in jail."

"No way. He can't be in jail. He's been hidden ever since and no one has known ever caught him,  he just got put in now?

She shrugged. "He was handcuffed and taken to the police station. Last I heard was, they were sending him to prison. They had dirt on him from before."

I squealed. "So that means, no more problems, at least involving him."

My moms frown deepened. "I'm no so sure Ivory."

"What do you mean?" I questioned.

"Before he was put in the cop car. I remember him turning to me and saying 'I'm coming back for you' and then he was taken. I've been frightened ever since."

"Mom, it's not safe here."

"I know. We just don't have the money to move elsewhere." She replied.

"Do you know what he is capable of? He had so many patients. They're gonna be looking for us. We send their dealer into prison."

I got up and started pacing around the room. "I can't believe I never thought about that. We wasted to much time, they probably already found out location and they're making there way over here to kill u-"

I was interrupted by my mother. She gripped onto my shoulders and had a very angry expression on her face.

"Ivory you need to calm down."
