Chapter 71
Ivory's P.O.V
I raised my hands in defence at him. I slowly crept closer to this guy. I have no clue who he is, he looks a little familiar, but I can't put a name to a face. "Put the gun down." I plead.
He grins and shakes his head. "Do you know who I am Ivory?"
"Uh, am I suppose to?" I ask.
"Always respect your elders Ivory. I'm Jesse Carder." He spoke.
My jaw dropped. It was so obvious, how didn't I put the two and two together? "Is this your store? Because I frankly remember my father kicking you out of the business."
He just grinned from ear to ear. "That did happen, but now I'm here. He needed help running this place and I volunteered."
The kid was struggling in his hands. He whimpered in pain. Tears stung my eyes. I'm going to get this kid out of here. "Please put the gun down and My father won't hear about this." I say, my voice shaking.
"Why? Why should I? What do these kids mean to you Ivory? They have it great here, I don't know why you'd help them."
"Are you kidding me? These kids are young. They have families and their parents are worrying tremendously, how could you even be able to do this? These kids are traumatized and yet you sit here and think this is okay." I exploded. "Think again Jesse, what you're doing is utterly disgusting and I won't have a problem putting you in jail, where you belong."
He wasn't fazed by this at all. "When I go down, so does your father. News flash Ivory, I'm not the only store doing this. So while you're saving these kids, others are going to be kidnapped by the other owners."
I wanted to so badly slap that smirk off his face. He is disgusting and I don't know what my father was thinking when bringing him back to the business. He's just going to mess it all up once again. Some people never change, when mistakes were done purposely, what's going to stop them from doing it again? "Please, please just let the poor boy go." I begged desperately. He was shaking and crying heavily.
My heart was throbbing for all these kids. He just laughed. "No can do Ivory. If we want this business up and running, we're going to have to use this children to filth."
"Well then you leave me no choice Jesse. I'm going to get that kid and knock your teeth in, during the process. Wrong choice grandpa."
I shove the table at his direction and it slides into his stomach. He grunts in pain, he kept an arm locked around the child's throat, he pointed the gun at me and his finger rested on the trigger. He pointed it at my head and pulled the trigger. I rolled on the ground and got out of the way of the bullet. He kept shooting at me. I jumped onto the table to dodge it. He pointed it at me once again. I run on the table and ram my head into his stomach. He doubles over in pain and clutched his stomach with his hands. The sound of the gun shooting, run through my ears.
"Go!" I screamed to the child and he ran as fast as he could out of the door way. I stood over him with my feet on either side of him. He flung his leg up and it kicked me between he legs. I backed up in pain and rammed into the table and lost my balance and I fell to the floor.
I grunted in pain, but got myself up. He was steadying himself as well. I rammed my foot into his stomach, he backed up and I continuously punched his face. Blood started spilling from his nose. He had the strength to push my off. I stumbled back a bit again, but took my stance. He jumped up. His face was badly beaten. He ran at me will full speed and gripped onto my body and rammed us into another table. It had broken from he impact and it fell with us, he handed on me to break the fall. I raise my leg to kick him between the legs and push him off.
