Chapter 21

I am woken up by the sound of whispering. But I can't open my eyes or move my limbs. I see the silhouette of figures. I tried to scream for them to help me, but they continue chatting about other things.

I tried to move my toes and my fingers, but it was all no use. I let my body relax for a few seconds, I attempted to open my eyes again. They managed to open, but I had opened them so quickly I was blinded by the light peering through the windows. I closed them instantly and groaned.

The whispering had stopped. I opened my eyes to see, they both stood at the foot of my bed and looked at me.

Linda rushed over to me and put her palm against my forehead, to check my temperature. Her cold hand has relaxed my nerves.

"I was so worried about you!" She gushed.

I smiled. I wonder how my father had managed to catch such a girl like her?

I look to Ivan and he was staring at me intensely. "Because of your actions, you were rewarded with a very nice bruise around your eye." He said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes. "It was either your mother or me and I'm sure I can take a punch more than she can. No offence." I turn to look and her and she just shrugged with a smile, "and I would have not wanted my father to mess up your beautiful mothers face. Besides I have been knocked out plenty of times in my days."

Ivan sighed, clearly not finding what I said amusing. "Or you could've just learned to duck."

I scoffed "and what is the fun in that? I love the feeling of someone's bony knuckles making connect with my face and leaving a nice dent in it." I commented sarcastically.

Ivan rolled his eyes, but had a small smile playing on his lips. "Just don't do it again." He tried to act serious, crossing his arms over his chest.

"No, I'm glad you're okay baby or I was so worried?" I ask sounding offended.

"Well clearly I was worried." He smiled.

"Clearly? Because it's not very clear to me." I fired back.

He rolled his eyes and mumbled "Whatever."

I scoffed. "What a great boyfriend you are."

We were interrupted by the sound of a panicked Adam rushing in to the room.

"Where's Richard?" He asked urgently.

Ivan and I shrugged "He left last night and hasn't been back since." Linda commented.

"I need you guys." He says directed towards Ivan and I.

"No, no, no. You can't have Ivory, she has a mild concussion and she isn't going anywhere." Linda argued.

Adam Looked at my sympathetically. "I really need you though."

"Well that's too bad." Linda fired back.

Adam pouted and looked sad. I spoke up. "What do you need?"

His ears perked up and he looked at me. "I went into my diner today and Jynx was all beat up, I honestly don't know what happened. I need her fixed, the kids are counting on me, I have plenty of birthdays coming up and parents have paid for Her to attend them!" He says creaking out.

"Alright, I'll help you."

Linda and Ivan stared at me with wide eyes. "Are you crazy? You just got knocked out last night!" Linda exclaimed.
