Chapter 72
Ivory P.O.V
"Uh, yeah sure." He stutters. "Come on in." He says awkwardly and shifts out of the way, for them to come in.
"I'm okay right here. We've been investigating your shops and coming to find out, you've hired people to kidnap kids and use them for your company."
My father's face grew shocked. "Uh, I don't know what you're talking about." His tone serious.
"Sir, I know what you've been doing, I have evidence. I saw the kids tied up in your locations. You're going to co-operate with us and make this easier or don't. Turn around and put your hands behind your back." They ordered. He unhooked the handcuffs from his belt and dangled them in our faces.
"What no! This wasn't him, this was the owners of the franchise doing this, we just learnt about it a week ago and he was gone." I reasoned with them.
"I'm sorry Miss, this is his company and he is the boss of all these people, he may not have condoned this, but he didn't stop it."
"He wasn't here to stop it! That's what you're not understanding!" I shouted at them.
"It doesn't matter Miss, this is his business. We've arrested the franchise owners and now we have to take him. All the franchises are currently closed. Anything you do or say could be used against you." They say and turn my father around. He went to put them on my father.
My father just stood there and allowed it, he did not fight to stop this from happening. I lunged at the police officers and gripped onto the hand cuffs and tried to pull it away. The other officer put his forearm against my collar bone and rammed me up against the wall I grunted as my back smashed against in. Pain traveled up my whole back. I tried to break free, but his grip on me was strong and it didn't budge. He held me there, while the other officer put the handcuffs on my father.
"He'll be held in jail until he gets an attorney. Might as well start looking for a good one." He says. He steers my father to the door and walks out.
"No!" I scream. I try to break free from the police officer, but it's not working. I felt so weak and useless. I went limp in his arms. I started crying out. "Please don't take him." My voice breaking.
The other police officer just held my limp body in his arms. "You'll get him back, we've got to do this Darling." He says, sympathy laced in his voice.
I cried into his shirt. He's gone. They're taking my father away from me and I can't do anything about it. He's allowing this to happen and not fighting at all. I don't know what's happening with him. "Please, I need him." I cried.
"I'm really sorry Dear. He will be home soon, just a good lawyer and you'll get him back."
I sniffled and wiped away the tears. "He didn't do this."
He nods and lets go off me, letting me stand on my own two feet. "I can tell. I've got to go, but you'll be okay." He waved to me sadly and walks out of the door, closing it behind him.
Ivan comes up behind me and I turn around and just engulf him in a hug. He lets me cry on him. I cry and cry until my tears run out. The saddest thing was, how weak he looked. I don't know what has gotten into him, he should have fought for his innocence, but he allowed himself to be taken away.
