Chapter 46
"Call the nurse Father, please." I begged and rushed him out of the room immediately.
I hold my mother down steady. She has stopped shaking rapidly, she just twitched a couple times. Her breathing is still very heavy.
He barges into the room. "She's on her way. Do you know what's happening to her?"
I shook my head. "No, of course not. Can you help me please?" I shouted over her shaking tremendously. The bed started moving as she started shaking faster.
He ran over to me and placed hands on each side of her legs. The doorbell rings immediately. I scream Ivan's name to go get ur, while my father and I calmed her down. I heard footsteps run down the stairs harshly.
She began coughing and her face was Turning blue. "Hurry please!" I screamed out in hopes the nurse would start running in immediately.
And it worked. She rushed in with a big bag of medical stuff and a worried expression on her face. My mother didn't stop shaking at all. "You need to let go off her!" She screamed over my mothers coughing.
"We need to help her." I shouted back, angrily.
"I get that, but you need to let go off her and let her finish the process first. Someone, go get her some water." She ordered around.
I grabbed Ivan's hand and ran out to the kitchen. I filled up a glass and sent him back to give it to her, but I asked him to come right back.
I felt like I was going to break down. Seeing my mother so vulnerable hurts. Something is tearing her down and showing her weakness and the carders aren't weak.
I have no clue what is going on with her, but after that surgery; everything seems to be going wrong. I thought she would be fine and dandy after the surgery, but she got rid of one problem and was faced with plenty of more. The one thing she did lessen was the chance of death, she is cancer free.
Ivan came back and had a sympathetic look on his face. "Ivory, I'm so-" he didn't finish when I wrapped my arms around him and engulfed him in an emotional hug. I couldn't force the tears away, I had no control and they kept flowing. I leaned my face into his shoulder region. I gripped the front of his sweater with two hands and just cried.
He rubbed my back reassuringly, for what seemed like it lasted a while. My father had walked in and was about to tell me something, but when he saw what was happening, he let it go and walked off. I heard him at the front door and then the door closed, rather silently. Leaving the only sound of my muffled cries against Ivan's now, soaked shirt.
"Ivan what is happening to her? It's like something is taking over her body." My voice breaking. Tears never stopped flowing once.
I could see his eyes getting watery. He shook his head and bit his lip to prevent himself from crying. "I don't know." He says quietly.
"I just wanted to go to bed and now this is happening." I whined.
"Think about how your mother feels."
I nod my head sadly. The tears dripping on the floor as I bowed my head down. "What if she's dying?" I ask and look into his eyes. The beautiful blue ones that mesmerize me every time I see them.
"Ivory, she had already passed that test. She just needs to get through a few more challenges and she'll be alright." He whispered. He combed back my hair with his finger and delicately placed it behind my ear.
"Do you really think so?" I test him. I hope he's right. I couldn't bare the idea of my mother beating cancer and then something else breaks her down when she's already weak.
