Chapter 35

We arrived at the familiar mansion. Each time I see it, it looks like it gets bigger, but that's just my eyes playing tricks on me.

The last time I stayed here, I hadn't even explored all the rooms, which is bizarre to me. I don't understand the need to buy a house with like 30 rooms. How are you going to manage to use them all up?

But also the last time I stayed here; I was petrified, I had learned so many new secrets that I didn't necessarily want to know, that's going to be a mission this time, to find out all about it, or maybe I should just keep it in the past..

I open the trunk and grab out my bags. Ivan and I began walking towards the door. I looked behind us and saw my mother and father walking together hand in hand. I nearly melted at the sight.

It just warms my heart to see the both of them together again. This is what is was suppose to be in the beginning.

"Father." I called out to him.

He looked over at me. "Yes?"

"Can you try and contact a nurse as soon as possible?"

I just really wanted to make sure my mother got the treatment she needed.

He nods. "I'll get right on that." He kissed my mother and heads straight to the door, passing us.

I smile at my mother and wave for her to come over here. She walks as fast as she can, it's not as fast as usual, but it makes sense; because she's not well.

I just hope with all my life and love she will get better. I never thought this would have ever happened, but here we are and when I say I'll do anything to help her, I really do mean it.

She reaches us and smiles. "Ivory, I'm having such a great day." She announces brightly.

I chuckle. I place my hand on her shoulder and gave it a squeeze. "Me too mother. Me too." Seeing her happy and excited really made my day.

No one could wipe the grin off of my face today. This has been the best day I've had in a while. It's not completely perfect, but I never asked it to be. You always need to be grateful for what you have and what you can get.

To make this a perfect day, I want my mother to be cured; Ivan and I to have a cute night together and I want a big family dinner, yeah that sounds good to me.

We walk into the oversized doors which lead into the banquet hall. Oh how I haven't really missed this place, since I haven't had great memories; but I will make some now.

I haul my suitcase up the stairs with Ivan following right behind me. I jump on the king size mattress and I sunk into it right away. The one thing I did miss here, was the extremely comfortable mattresses.

I felt the bed dip beside me and Ivan laid there, staring at me. I rolled over to look up at the ceiling and put my hands on my stomach.

"Never thought I'd actually want to be here." I announce.

"I think it's going to be better on out from here." He smiles at me.

I reach over and give him a simple and sweet kiss. "It's like we're a whole family here now." I had realized what I just said. "Oh, I'm so sorry Ivan."

"Stop saying that. It's okay, I'm going to make sure your mother adopts me anyway." He smiles at me and looks up at the ceiling.

The ceiling had little stickers of glow in the dark stars. They were shining a tiny bit. I don't know why, but they held comfort to me.
