Chapter 4
After last night, I kept thinking about my Mother, It blew my mind. I even offered her, her smokes and she rejected them. I kept them hidden in my top drawer in my dresser. I wasn't just about to throw them out.
We had spent the rest of the night cleaning up the place, I haven't seen it like this in forever. It made me remember the old times. Last night we made supper together and bonded, everything seemed right with the world.
I snapped out of my thoughts and reached down to my phone that had been ringing, I look at the number; it looks awfully familiar, I just couldn't put my finger on it.
I pressed call and put it up to my ear. "hello?' I said.
"Hey Ivory, I was wondering If you could start tonight, I have everything ready for you."
"yes, of course." I replied.
"awesome, Come in at 6 and we'll spend an hour on orientation and ill tell you all about it there."
"sounds good, thanks."
"see you soon." he hung up the phone
I made my way downstairs and I noticed my mom was In the kitchen, I waved to her and sat down on the bar stool.
"Whatcha doing?" I asked.
"Just making some breakfast for you and I, Could you do me a favour?" she asked.
"yeah sure."
"could you go up into my room and grab me my wallet."
I nodded my head and traveled up into the room, It was pitch black, I flashed on the lights. It was Mildly dirty, Nothing too bad.
I look around the room trying to locate her wallet, I nearly tripped from hitting my foot against something. I looked down and I see a box full of something hidden under her bed, not fully.
I grabbed the handle and pulled it out from under the bed. I first notice it's a stack full of Papers. I look down and read the headlines. 'another Night guard gone missing' I picked them up one by one, looking at all the headlines. They were all about Missing night guards, even Alyssa Fetchers story was here. I noticed that the newspapers had been marked ad highlighted.
I slide the box back under, exactly where it was. I grab the wallet and rush out of the room quickly.
"what took so long?" my mom asked as she placed a plate of food in front of me.
"too a while to find your wallet and I tripped up the stairs, I'm clumsy."
she laughed "definitely got that from me." she said as she sat down beside me.
I took a bite of the cinnamon pancakes she made. "mhm these are so good!"
"thank you, you used to absolutely love these, when you were younger, you wouldn't eat anyone's except mine."
"really? I love pancakes, I would've thought I'd eat anyone's."
"nope, only mine she smiled."
"mom." I turn towards to face her. "Have you heard about all those night guards going missing."
she nearly chocked on her bite, she slowly recovered. "yeah, crazy right?"
I nod my head in agreement "It's weird, how it's one after the other, but it's at all different franchises, all being restaurants."
"I don't know what's happening, I don't check on the news much."
"well around 15 night guards have been pronounced missing." I shrugged.
"but anyway mom, Guess what?"
"what?" she turns toward me.
"I got a job."
"Oh honey! where?"
"I start tonight, the night shift at Circus Babies pizzeria."
her face fell of emotions, she grabbed her plate and walked over to the sink, not responding.
"mom?" no reply.
"Mom are you okay?"
"Im fine, I just felt nauseous all of a sudden, do you mind helping me to the couch?"
"no problem" I came to her side and helped her to the couch. I went to the fridge and grabbed her an ice pack for her head.
I took this as an opportunity to do more research on the Night guard articles, I crept up the stairs slowly, trying to make as little sound possible.
I grabbed the box and made my way to my room. I placed the box on the ground and started taking out the papers and reading them thoroughly.

I check on the time and I realize two hours had passed, I quickly put them back in the box, In order and shoved it under my moms bed, I heard movement from downstairs as I ran back to my room, I grabbed a piece of gum and tossed it in my mouth.
In those two hours I had found out, Two guards would go missing in a month, from Franchises located Polar opposite ends, it's never in the same area. The craziest thing I learned was that they always go missing on the exact same day each month, The 8th of each month. There had only been two female Guards pronounced missing, One was Alyssa Fetcher, the other one was never mentioned, they had nothing on the other person.
15 guards have been missing, It started on August 8th 2014. Out of the fifteen missing, 2 have been identified as dead, they had found their bodies.
I grab my computer and look up the date, it surely has to connect to something, I typed it on a browser. Many websites came through.
One in particular had caught my eye it was an article. The headline read 'Freddy Fazbears Family Diner finally open!'
I continued reading the article, what I got from it was, the first restaurant of all the chain of them was, Fred bears Family Diner." It was the first of them all. It was the first restaurant to introduce animatronics.
But not all of it connects, how did the restaurant open up the same time , all the guards went missing? But the farthest the missing articles go, is five months.
Maybe the date tracks the first night guard that went missing, the one who they have no record of.
I just want to know who that last guard is and why my mom reacted the way she did.
