Julie presses herself against the animal hides, attempting to put as much room as possible between her and Darren as his lips press against her neck. His mark sizzles every time he touches it, making her whimper as the burning sensation swirls through her body. Darren doesn't show any concern, chuckling whenever she winces as he presses himself against her.
"Soon, little pup," He mumbles against her skin, pulling on her sleeve, revealing her shoulder which becomes poisoned by his lips. Julie closes her eyes tightly, wishing that it were possible to think herself somewhere else. The makeshift bandage around her hip rubs against her skin in the wrong way and she hopes that the wound was worth the trouble. It's all up to Miranda now and she can only beg whatever omnipotent being listening to her that Dresden will find her soon.
She doesn't like the way Darren kisses. She doesn't think anyone would with how forceful he is. Even if he was her mate, she doesn't think she could find it in her to enjoy it. His touch is rough and the feeling of him around her makes her feel like sharp edges are constantly poking her. Disgust fills her - more for herself and how weak she is compared to him. She can't push him away. Her attempts only amuse him and egg him on. She can scratch and slap and possibly punch him but eventually, as he's already proven several times, he'll catch her arms and hold them in place. There's only so much space she can run to.
The entire time he's harassing her, the red-eyed Alpha that guards her sits at the entrance and even while busy fighting off Darren's attempts, Julie can see that the season is affecting the wolf. He twitches and moves closely before falling back. He can hardly contain himself as he watches. Julie tries to understand that he has no control. His carnal wolf has the reigns and the beast is only following his instincts with no human conscious interfering. Even if wolves lose a sense of themselves during the season, Julie is sure that this particular one wouldn't have forced himself on her if he were normal.
Darren pulls back from his affection and stares down at her with a blank expression. Her wrists are held in place above her by one of his hands and while she's still retaining some dignity, she feels violated and loathsome. She feels like his touch is everywhere and she wants to clean herself until she can't feel him anymore. His finger drifts down her side, over her clothed breast and stops at her vulnerable hip.
"So beautiful," He mutters just before he stares into her eyes. "Yet you're still so hostile, so determined to fight me."
Julie gulps, staying as still as possible in hopes of not pissing him off. His fingers press into her hip but it's not painful. He leans forward, kissing her cheek and she can feel his breath against her neck, sending chills down her body.
"I'll break that soon enough."
The red-eyed Alpha at the door begins to growl and Julie watches as Darren's red eye glows. He pulls away from her then without another word and leaves her, her guard staying put although, by his restless behavior, Julie can tell something is happening.
Hope rises in her. It's painful but relieving and she sits up, quickly covering her stomach. The red-eyed Alpha turns towards her, growling lowly and she stills, keeping her distance. He turns his attention back down the other way, his growls rumbling as an echo off of the walls. He's tense, ready for anything and with every second, he grows more and more agitated. It's not until a howl echoes from somewhere else that the red-eyed beast leaves her and Julie holds her breathe, just in case he decides to come back.
She stands up, her knees shaking beneath her and peeks around the doorway. She can't see much of anything but she hears nothing. Her instincts tell her to stay where it's safe, near the light and in a room that's away from red-eyed monsters but she knows she has to risk it. This is her only chance to finding freedom and possibly getting back to Dresden.
