"We're having a celebration party in honor of the new alliances with Alpha Ollie and Alpha Rose," Nina explains as she watches Julie look around with surprise. Their pack is aroused with newfound energy like it's the beginning of mating season all over again. More people than she remembers belonging to her pack crowds her pack house. She recognizes some from that first party but they belonged to Ollie's pack and now, she understands clearly why they're here.

That means Dresden, Ollie, and Rose were able to work something out to stop the all-Alpha pack from attacking. Teeth sinking into the delicate flesh of her lower lip, Julie tries not to let the fact that she's facing off with the same dangers as a year before depress her and attempts to join in on the celebrations, standing in a corner next to Nina and Lea who are already sharing new gossip with her.

"Sheila found out Jack slept with Olive before he was attacked and that's why she's pissed," Lea tells her. "Olive is a total sleaze but she's a good lay. Trust me. She's really bendy and she's up for anything."

"Oh my god," Nina slaps Lea's arm, giggling like a school girl. "Lea!"

"What? Almost everyone has slept with Olive at one point or another! Why not join the crowd?"

Julie, despite the uncomfortable idea of discussing sex with another woman clogging her mind, laughs at her friend's admission and tries to keep up with the stories she shares.

"-Oh, and this one time, I got Olive to do some bondage tricks. That was the most erotic thing I've done. Since then, I can't go back. I do it all the time now!"

"Even Drew lets you? He seems so...vanilla," Nina asks, surprised to hear that Lea's season partner is as adventurous as the crazy blonde haired woman herself. "I can barely get Casey to do anything but stationary. It's driving me insane. For once, I want to be able to press his buttons."

"Eh, Casey has a weird obsession with being in control in general. I'm not surprised he won't do anything more."

"At least I have Mary on the side. She'll do something more than that."

"Oh my," Jack interrupts, slinging his arms around Nina's and Julie's shoulders. Julie can't help but jump from his sudden appearance but she smiles at him nonetheless. "Sex stories, huh? Don't let Dresden know you're listening to this stuff, Julie. He'll start to think things."

His wink makes Julie blush as her friends laugh.

"What about you, Jack? Shouldn't you be treading waters carefully now that you've pissed off your partner?" Lea teases. Jack straightens up, slightly wincing from what's left of his healing wounds.

"Sheila will get over herself. She always does."

"It's a shame you two aren't mates. You guys already have this odd bond between you," Nina tells him. "I bet when you do find your mates, it'll be the hell for whoever's left alone."

Jack scoffs. "We'll be all right. If anything, I can just sneak into your bed, Nina. Maybe Lea will be willing to join?"

Lea laughs loudly. "Trust me, beta. You won't be able to handle this. I like to be in control."

Jack, still grinning from Julie's red face, shrugs. "I'm fine with that."

"So, Julie," Nina tugs on her arm, pulling her away from Jack and Lea's flirtatious conversation. Julie notices that Jack purposely starts to close in on her blonde friend and Lea doesn't seem to be bothered by it one bit. She hopes she knows what she's doing. Shiela is, after all, her friend too. "Have you figured out what you're going to do with Dresden yet?"
