The movement of Gaia and the others was wild. The sound of metal against metal, and the clicking of guns filled the air. Toni was launching as many bullets as there could ever be with those guns. He used the top side of the guns to defend any and all attacks from the roots. Some root had picked up scrap pipes and other materials to use against him.

Andrew was keeping Gaia as busy as he could, but she was able to use the roots to block or dodge nimbly. Andrew said nothing and only made little sounds of heavy breathing. He was a devastating force when he was serious. He would slice through roots and pick up anything long enough to swing. Gaia could do little except defend and dodge.

I rushed forward and helped Toni while he covered any roots trying to take Andrew by surprise. Toni on the other hand said lines as he fired his weapon. "Is this it? I can do this blind folded."

Sure enough three large barbed roots shot out the ground and twisted towards us. The tip wasn't steady, it twisted back and forth like a washing machine barrel so it was hard for him to get an accurate shot off.

The barbed roots skimmed past us leaving only small cuts on our arms. "Damn she got us." Toni said as he fell to one knee. "What do you..." My voice stopped as I felt my arm go limp. Then my legs started to feel like jelly or like the weren't even mine.

"Nerotoxin." Toni explained "The toxin is blocking our nerves from reaching our reseptors correctly, surprising we can even talk." He said as I fell to my knees and coughed. My body was acting like I was drowning. 'Am I breathing. Why can't I feel my lungs moving.' I thought to myself as I clawed at my chest with my normal hand.

I couldn't even feel my hand as it scrapped against my chest. "Cory stop. This is part of the toxin. Calm down." He said as he could barely get up off his knee. Only as soon as he did, a root holding a microwave came from behind and knocked him down hard.

I fell forward choaking even though I was breathing. My body and I felt like I wasn't getting oxygen. My eyes fell apon Gena, she was working hard even though I told her otherwise.

Her fingers and hands moved quickly as she melted metal items into tool shaped, and was putting something together. It looked like she was making a launcher from an automatic baseball pitcher. There was no electricity, so she dug into some broken beds for springs.

She looked so determined, and at the same time she looked like she was in her natural sense. She melted metal scraps into golfball sized ammo, and poured oil from old canasters.

I was so focused on her that I didn't even notice Toni covering me, or the fact that I was starting to get some feeling back.

Gena at work just grabbed my full attention. She used an car gear shift as a piston for loading the spring launching part.

A large root wrapped around me and started to thrash me around. Which made me start to feel a little more.

The root stopped thrashing and suddenly dropped me to the ground. Being not as good at the moment, I hit ground unskillfully. Rolling onto my back to get up, I see a gapping hole in the large root.

*Thump* A sound came hiting a root to my left. *Thump. Chic. Thump. Chic.* This sound was made by metal flaming golfballs of death as they tore through roots, or anything that got in their way.

It was Gena's weapon of makeshiftness to the rescue. She was unloading everything on the roots, and the fire on the ammo kept the roots from growing back as unusual quickly as they did. Toni's hand grabbed my arm and helped me up.

"Dude she is awesome." Toni said praising Gena as she destroyed everything unfriendly. "Does she have a type?" He asked me in a low voice, but without taking his eyes off her. "Shut up and cut the grass." I snapped at him with a smug smile.

Andrew tried multiple times to cut the vine on Trisha's leg, but his weapon bounced off without even a mark. "Toni how good is your aim?" I asked him with an idea creeping into my mind. "You must not have seen my shot on that arrow then." He replied with a smile, and raised up his guns.

"Good, I have a idea that I hope will work." I said and pulled my non-metal blade out. My arms and legs still feeling sluggish. 'I hope this works.' I thought to myself.
