Artemis Child Ch52

"..Are you Gena?" Her name rolled off my tongue as if I knew it immediately. "You don't remember me..." She said but it all came crashing down on me in one flashing barrage of memories. Meeting her. She wore a white baret, white cotton shirt and dark tan jeans.
  Talking with her. "Creepypasta and waffles are my life."
Riding with her. "I got radio! We about to listen to my kind of music."
Knowing her. "Don't get all lovey dovey on me just yet."
The kiss. The fighting. The crying.....the dying. Tears rolled down her face again no longer tears of joy. "You don't remember.." She said again but I smiled. "How could your warrior slave forget you?" I said reaching to wipe the tears from her eyes. She was now completely confused.
  "I must of had amnesia." I said my eyes watering up as I gripped her into a hug. "Idiot..." She said into my jacket. "Jerk..." She said adding more. "I missed you." I said holding her there. "I'm pretty awesome I guess." She said before a large rock came across the roof shaking the building and snapping us back to everything around us. "The Romans aren't bad people. They are just led by someone who isn't all there." I said showing her the tattoo on my arm SPQR.
  "I don't know if that's true." She said as she led me outside. Demigods and monsters fighting, demigods and demigods fighting. It was an all out brawl. The monsters were taking on any demigod in sight. The demigods were attacking completely different than each other. The Romans orderly conquering all their enemies in front of them. The Greeks using gods know what items. I'm pretty sure I saw someone launching plungers with their bow. The monsters though didn't care who they attacked. Cannibal Giants hurling rocks at the legions of demigods having them fan out.
  It was becoming all out war, and twilight was approaching. The sun's pink rays coming over the horizon. The monsters were some how getting into the camp. "Gonna have to break up the fight. Maybe they will listen to me." I said drawing my Imperial Gold sword. "Love the color." She said as we both took off towards the exit of camp.
  Piles and plumbs of gold dust covered the place. Running through tree line I noticed Toni was tied to a tree, Serena and Andrew were covering him from kirata. They had legs and chest of a human, but a frizzy tail paws and the head of a saber tooth tiger. "Why is Toni tied to a tree!" I asked as they were fending off the Kirata, semi-bipedial tigers with leather/fur armor. "He thought he was a magician." Serena said sarcastically as the claws of the monster scrapped against her shield. A giant threw a rope bolo, which was why Toni happened to be tied to the tree.
  "Sure you weren't trying a lil bit of some Rihanna songs?" Gena asked as she burned two Kirata to smoldering ash piles. Serena's face started to burn. She rapidly bashed a Kirata in the face with her shield. "It's not like that!" She said before changer her weapon to a sword to finish the monster up. Andrew took a second to cut the rope holding him. "We have to take our camp back." Toni chimed. He was having slight trouble getting his feet out of the rope pile after getting cut out. He spun his guns and loaded up on some rocks by slamming his pistol handles onto the thick stones that lay everywhere.
   They went forward guns blazing, literally. They tossed and switched weapons depending on what they were fighting. Toni tossed his guns to Andrew who intern tossed his sword to him. We were all in sync. Serena threw her shield hitting an enemy in the face. Toni peppered the thicker hide of monsters with his guns. Me, Andrew, Gena or Serena finished them off.
  We had a clear run to the tent Octavian until something clawed its way out of the ground. Its dark violet hands gripped the earth as it made thunderous breaths. "What the hell?" Toni said aiming his guns. The monster looked towards me. "You." He said getting completely out of the ground now. "Smell." He continued in one word sentences. He loomed over us thirteen feet tall. His upper body dark violet and massive. Hung on his belt were chains of lion pelts. His lower body was covered in scales that reflected the sunlight starting to rise higher past the horizon.
  "Like." His words were said through bared teeth on a very strong jawline. His face was almost human except for the fact that it switched between human and lion back and forth. "Her!" He said shaking his head, his hair that of frayed fur and blood. "Leon..." I said looking at his shifting face. His name just popped in my head like all other monsters I saw. He swung fast for his size, I pushed Gena out the way to keep her from getting hit which made his knuckle graze my back. It was like the roughest sand paper imaginable. Tearing a bit of a layer from my jacket.
   "What is he?" Andrew asked closing the distance to attack. "He is a giant." I said as Toni tossed Andrew a gun. "How do we kill him." Toni asked shooting at his face. "Kill." The giant said batting Toni away. Toni tried to pivot his body to lessen the blow but still got hit rather hard. "I got Toni." Gena called taking off in a sprint throwing little spiked devices as she ran.
   Andrew sliced at his leg only a small amount of blood came out. Thick oil like blood pooled down his leg before the lion heads on his belt reached out like they would if they were alive, roaring and snapping at him with their skeletal/decomposed heads attached to the chains. Serena ran in with her shield covering Andrew.
   The spiked machines went off sending numerous spikes into the giants side. This didn't seem to faze Leon. He only grabbed at Serena and Andrew. I held the sword in my hand. Something wasn't right. I couldn't move. My hand was shaking, my breath felt ragged yet I hadn't moved. 'This giant fought Hercules. But Hercules should have have killed him.' I thought to myself. 'This giant Leon, I've heard about him. Heard about one named Orion. Heard about another Gration. All said to be bested in combat.' I was frozen with fear. Maybe because I knew what he was. Andrew and Serena were attacking fearlessly. My vision was lossing sight of Leon. I was paralyzed.
  "Die." The giants voice said behind me. "How..." I started but was kicked hard by this brute of a beast. "Cory come on..get up." Andrew started but a lion clamped down on his sword. Serena sliced the chain and pushed him out the way as Leon swung downward. Switching her weapon to a shield she blocked it but the soft ground wouldn't sustain enough for her to block another swing.
   "Cory. Come on!" She said getting hit again. This time the ground providing no strength. The slip of her feet made the impact of the fist and her shield knock her completely unconscious. Leon simply slung her over his shoulder like a wet napkin. Her body hit the ground with a sickening thud.
  I got to my feet. "Serena!" I yelled running forward. Throwing my sword to Andrew, took off on a adrenaline filled fear run. For some reason I had this fear folding over me. Suffocating me. "Sere.." I was close to her body when a lion head chomped down onto my arm with enough speed and force to break through my jacket and arm.
  The chain connected to the head was in the grasp of Leon. He must have used it as a whip. My right hand out stretched towards Serena. "S.." I got yanked back by my arm making me let out a painful breath.
