"Here take some of this." Andrew said handing me a small square of some kind. He seemed to be feeling better from his knock out. "Eat it. We only have a limited amount. So I have been saving it for a time when we needed it most." The thing smelled great, like an maple granola bar. It was kinda like a small cookie, with a grain feel to it. "That wound will slow us down." He finished and put the rest away.

I tried to ignore the pain, but it would be impossible while moving a long distance. "Down the hatch." I said. 'Don't eat it.' A voice said in my head, which sounded alot like the my own thoughts. To late, the moment my tongue touched the item, all my hospital scars from before Camp Half-blood started to ache, some even bled. I flinched from a new pain while spots danced in my eyes. My mouth tasted like ash, and sand.

"What did you give him?" Gena yelled and knocked it from my hand. Andrew looked shocked, Kaylyn didn't seem to care. She kept petting the cat as she hummed. "I don't understand. It is a godly treat meant to heal demigods." Andrew said in his defense.

He took a moment to think. "Maybe Cory is one of those people who can't be healed by this." he said to us. No one seemed to notice this, so maybe it was my imagination. Although I heard Kaylyn after he said those words. "Or maybe he is just a monster." Was muttered under her breath.

I hated that word, it made me feel so different and outcasted. I ignored it this time and pretended like nothing was said. "Guys We should head out." I insisted and tried to sit up. My body protested, and crumpled back to the ground with a wave of pain. I grited my teeth and held my breath for a second. "I'll carry him." Toni said as if I was a cuddly animal. "I have a better idea." Kaylyn said with a smile that side trouble.

Sure enough. Little miss Hermes strikes again. Waiting out side in Toni's arms was weird. Not as weird as Kaylyn showing up in an ice cream truck, with a chocolate swirl cone in her hand. "All aboard the polar express!" She yelled with a cheerful smile.

Toni dug through the car as we drove finding all kinds of snacks. "Oh yeah! Cream filled mint sticks!" He exclaimed like a child and devoured the treat. Gena held my hand as we rode there, her powers kicking up my healing factor, which in turn healed my wounds fast, yet my ribs didn't change.

'You might want to hold on to something.' Said the voice from before, and this time it was louder.

Bang a large object hit the wall of the truck. "Ah!" Toni said. He sat down away from the window. "Please gods I'm so sorry. I'll never eat chicken again." His face was pale.

Bang This time we swerved a little. "We have unwanted customers." Kaylyn said and motioned for us to get rid of them. Andrew opened the back doors to reveal large snarling monsters running after us. These things were the size of buff Gorrilas with knee problems. Their heads was that of an angry rooster, and the body of a horse.

The name: Hippalectryon popped in my head. Toni fired his weapon, but the Hippalectryons either dodged or ate the bullets. 'Tricky monster's they are. The more they eat things touched by demigods, the bigger they get.' The voice informed me, but it sounded like a joke. The voice was right though, the one who ate three bullets was already taller and stronger looking than the rest. Toni noticed too and started frantically eating ice cream. "What are you doing?" I asked him with a confused look. "I'm a nervous eater." He confessed. He took a bite of one and made a face. Must have been a sour treat or something. 'They hate mortal food.' The voice informed me more, this time putting the accent for food as if it was a hint.

Quickly I rushed over and tossed a full ice cream bar at one. The greedy one that was biggest, ate this faster than Toni was eating at the begining of the ride. The cream curled out of its large beak, making it look rabit and more dangerous. Suddenly two from its left attacked it, beaks making a bone chilling snap sound. 'They are like scavengers, or Vultures' I thought to myself.
