Artemis Child Ch33

The food here smelled delicious, and the people here were laughing and smiling. The food may have been great, but my eyes kept wandering to he uncooked meats near the kitchen's indoor grill. The meat was still blood red, and dripping. I don't know why, but my stomach seemed to reach for it.

   'You cannot escape the hunger.' A familiar voice said in my head. 'I thought I killed you.' I said to it, but the voice didn't reply. 'Must be my imagination.' I told myself and headed to the sushi bar. "Well if my body wants raw food, this is as raw as it gets." I told myself and piled my plate high with all kinds of foreign foods.

   I personally hate sushi, but my stomach didn't care. So I headed back to the table. Gena was already there, along with the purple Tulips. She had two plates, one with pastas of multiple kinds, and another with waffles. Sitting down, I noticed that the lighting was different than before. Instead of a bright overhead light, the table instead glowed a romantic orange color. This color made her eyes glow so vibrantly, and her features seem so unsual.

  "Cory." Her voice said in a worried tone. "Yeah?" I asked her. "Why do you always stare at me?" She asked me in return, and made me realise that I was doing just that. My cheeks started to burn again. "I'm Just going to say it." I said and paused.

  "Look, I like you, as in really like you. I mean it must be obvious, but i get so nervous that I feel like you don't know." I started to explain, while I looked up to see if any of the others were coming. They seemed to be very picky so I had some more time. "I was afraid that you didn't think of me in that way, especially after the eclipse..." She punched ne in the shoulder playfully to silence me.

   "Don't get all lovey dovey on me just yet, lets finish this journey." She said and pulled me into a kiss. 'Thank you crazy romantic resturant.' I thought to myself. The kiss didn't last long, but my consept of time faded from my senses. She however didn't like the kiss, it was something she was trying to figure out.
  ("I'm sorry, but I'm gay." "I mean you kinda ruin the story if you speak during the recording like this.")

   She pulled away and smiled. "You still didn't answer my question." She said to me as she bit into some fork impailed waffles. "Were..." Is all I could say as the rest of our group showed up.

   Soon we were all chowing down on much deserved food, talking a little, and actually smiling. "Why are you so happy?" Toni asked me as he ate some SnowCrab legs.. "Nothing, just really great sushi." I lied as I devoured the unflavored food. My tongue didn't like it, although my stomach loved it.

   "Wait I just realised we don't know much about you." Andrew said to kaylyn, and looked over to her. "What's to know?" She asked back to him. "Well like you god parent, home, relationship, stuff like that." Toni answered for him. "Um, my father is hermes, you already know that. I used to live near the tip of Florida. I am in a relationship, but my boyfriend and I havn't talked in months." She answered and took a bite of her small resteraunt style pizza.

  "Wait I thought you haven't seen him in a month." I corrected her fron what she had told me. "I was lying to.myself more than to you." She replied and looked down as she ate. "Ok. Um can you tell me why Gaia posessed you?" I asked her.

  "She said that she knew where he was, and if I helped her." She paused and blinked her eyes to hold back anything liquidy. "She said if I help, she would help me get him."

   "Ok how about, why was Toni after you." I asked her more. "I can answer that, she stole one of my guns. This was a long while ago, maybe four weeks ago. The small store we were in got attacked, my sister was wearing my jacket." Toni said with anger in his voice. "They attacked her, and I was unable to protect her." His voice ended in a low cough. He must not have known she would be attacked either way being his sister if they were from the same father.

   "Look I'm sorry about your sister, but that weapon could of helped me when I needed it many times" Kaylyn defended herself. Toni twirled the small knife on his fingers, then flung it at her. A small pop sound was made as Gena's hand reached out and caught the knife. "Toni this isn't the time. Can't we just eat now and kill each other later? I mean god damn it, you both are pissy boo-hoo shut up and eat." Gena said in a silencing voice. They all got quiet, even the people at the buffet stopped putting food on their plates and decided to sit down at their tables. She would be a good leader maybe in the future.
