After the illuminate tour, I moved to LA. A year passed and I went on my third tour by this time I was 20 and needed a break from touring year after year. So I officially settled down in my small apartment. Immediately I noticed a lack of company.
I sat in my desk chair working on some random music, I was thinking of putting out another single. The quietness of my apartment almost bothered me. I sat back into he cushioned chair and thought about some options to clear up the silence.
An idea finally hit. I saw an add about a local orphanage. I could adopt a little kid. I was set on my idea. To back it up I called my mom.
Karen: Hi honey!
Shawn: Hey mom...
Karen: what's up?
Shawn: I'm not gonna beat around the bush, I want to adopt a kid.
Karen: wow...ok... wow... it's a lot of work Shawn...
Shawn:I kno-
Karen: you didn't let me finish, I feel like you are more than capable of taking care of a little boy or girl... just keep me updated ok?
Shawn: Ok mom love you!
Karen: love you too!
With that I booked an appointment with
the orphanage to meet some kids. There was nothing holding me back!
