Most days...

The next couple days and nights went the same. It had become so bad I felt more like a zombie than I did human. With Nolan waking up almost every hour was not only taking a toll on me but his sister. Everley often would fall asleep and then be woken by her brother screaming. After I got her back to bed and calmed down she always woke up from a nightmare and came running to my room.
I was currently in the kitchen making pasta while Nolan was dozing in his swing and Eve was playing with some blocks on the floor. My head kept bobbing as I was falling suit with my son. It was so hard not to doze off right there in the kitchen. Standing up. I knew I couldn't or I would not be able to catch a break from Everley, she has been been hounding me to make her some food even though I've provided her with plenty of snacks throughout the day.
"Daddy!"
"What baby? Please be quiet I don't want you to wake up Nolan."
"Please hurry!"
"I'm working on it baby..."
"Ok..." Right as I got her settled and I was about to take a bite Nolan started crying again.
"You have got to be kidding me!"
"Daddy it ok?"
"Yes..." I went over and picked him up. After rocking him for what felt like an hour his crying hadn't let up. Defeated, I sat down on the couch and put him on my chest. Everley came running over and cuddled into my side. I let my head fall back but then picked it back up when I no longer heard Nolan's screams. Everley had her hand on his back and her head right next to his whispering sweet nothings to him.
"You are such a good big sister... I love you both so much!"
I felt like I could finally relax with my small family.
