Bringing her home

A week after the person came looking through my house to make sure it was suitable I was officially approved to take my little girl home. Before doing so, I made Laila go to a few stores with me so I could get more clothes considering I didn't have a lot for her and she would only be coming home with a few items.

We were at target picking out outfits. In the middle of doing so I received a call.
"Hello is this Mr. Mendes?"
"This is him."
"Hi I'm calling you because I'd like to inform that Everley is ready to go home with you whenever you are ready."
"Really! Can I pick her up today?"
"Yes sir."
"Great I'll be there as soon as I can!"
"See you then Mr.Mendes!"
I told laila the great news, we hurried to checkout line and got into the car. Laila wanted me to drop her off at my house so she could make some last minute preparations while I went to go pick my girl up.
I pulled into the parking lot and quickly made into the building.
"Hi I'm here to pick up Everley Mendes."
"Perfect! Let me go get her." It felt like an eternity before I saw her slowly making her way down the stairs.
"Hey sweet girl!" She saw me and smiled the sweetest smile, I was glad I decided to adopt her. "Are you ready to go to your new home?" I got a small nod from her. The lady handed her bag to me, and the two of us then made our way outside hand in hand.

Miss Joice came upstairs into my room and said that I was going home with my new daddy! I was excited but also nervous. She grabbed my bag and followed me downstairs into the lobby. I saw Shawn standing there. He said hi to me and I just smiled. A minute later I was outside heading towards a car to go home!
