i accidentally bumped into you harshly and grabbed your wrist for support. swiftly, you turned, startled by the sudden touch and i stared at you for awhile, captivated by your appearance. instinctively you reached into your cute pocketbook...

then you pepper sprayed me in the eyes.

i started crying while you rushed out apologies. your voice was equivalent to a cool summer evening. if not better. but that's not the point right now.

you were so sorry; said that you thought i was a criminal.

then again, maybe i was,
because it felt like a crime for eyes like mine
to see such beauty like you.
