i smiled in attempts to calm you down while the derogatory word about my body lingered in the air clouding every ounce of my suppressed memories.

you didn't hear the second part, you were too focused on the first part of what that guy said to not even notice he spoke up again.

but i heard it.
i've heard it many times.
yet i laughed happily, changing the subject hoping i could keep my smile up long enough with you staring at me while i talk your head off.

i use rambling as a self defense mechanism.
i'm so sad, tyler.
