you spoke of summer breezes learning to let go. "are you alright?"

and i let go of the breath i was holding in, dizziness in my third eye,
"yeah, um- yeah. sorry."
you hummed, a wave of a hand accompanied.

i dozed off after that. my mind wander elsewhere like the soles of your shoes against a dusty bookshop floor.

it was the giggle equivalent to that of a child that pulled me back from the clouds of slumber that cleared up to reveal two star-like eyes shining behind.

"what?" i snapped. i didn't mean to.

however, you didn't look offended. merely withdrew your eyes that burned a star into my chest. i was waiting for the explosion.

"nothing. you-"
puffing out a heavy sigh and continued,
"you just look like you deserve a nice long sleep. i bet it ain't all that easy; but hey, what do i know, right?"
