before you could leave i stopped you.

"w-we don't know each other very much, b-but would you mind, um, can i, like, takeyouonadate only if you want of course i wouldn't want to force y- wait, am i saying to much right now? oh god. please-"

then you stopped me and i suddenly forgot how to breathe.

"hey, slow down. in and out, yeah?" you said calmly. you closed your eyes inhaling, then opened after exhaling, silently telling me to do the same. i did.

"would you, josh, i don't know your last name, let me take you out on a date."

"dun." you stated. and i furrowed my brows, anxiety washing over me. i guess you noticed because then you laughed,
"my last name, it's dun. d-u-n. it's weird i know,"

i smiled slightly.
it couldn't have been noticeable, but it was there.

"but i'd be honored to."

and it was the first genuine one i've ever had in a long time.
