Chapter 5 - The Plan

James' P.O.V

This year already seemed to be going great and it wasn't even breakfast yet. I realised how much I had to be thankful for, I had the marauders, I was going to the best wizarding school in the country possibly the world and my new found friendship with Lily made everything better. Being around her even just on the train or through the first feast of the year last night gave me this undiscovered joy I had within myself. I was trying to peacefully appreciate life when Sirius, the annoying sod, started shouting.

'Prongsie, c'mon get up, first meal of the day always important' he shouted, although not in a completely serious tone.

'Since when are you up this early?' I said glancing at the clock on my bedside table after grabbing my glasses, it was 6:50.

'No reason' he said innocently.

'Marlene' Remus shouted.

Oh. So Sirius did like Marlene. I-- wait how did they get into the common room?!

'Oi, this is common room for Head Boy and girl only, get out. How did you get in anyway?' I said realising I was only wearing my boxers.

'Oh, yeah' Sirius said pausing to laugh 'you know last night when you thought we went to our common room?' He said casually.

'Yes' I said trying to discretely reach for my uniform.

'Yeah well, we didn't' Sirius finished.

'So you were eavesdropping to hear the password?' I said looking at him pointedly.

'That's right' he said emerging from the bathroom his hair combed, for once.

'Padfoot! Our trust! Gone! Disappeared. The deceit, the betrayal an- you! Moony, I would never have expected this from you!' I said dramatically.

'Hey, I was held against my will. And really? After hanging out with you two for six years you wouldn't think I would know a thing or two about eavesdropping?' He said leaning against a wooden post next to my bed.

'True, where's Wormtail' I asked looking around to check he wasn't already here.

'Still asleep, the lazy rat' Sirius said flopping down on the side of my bed.

'Literally' I said laughing and Sirius immediately joined in.

'Keep your voices down!' Remus said suddenly.

'C'mon Moony, just cus' we make one comment about Peter doesn't mean everyone is going to find out' Sirius said half laughing.

'Yeah, and the only other person here is Lily and you know she wouldn't tell or care' I added.

'About my condition or you illegally becoming animagi?' Remus said raising an eyebrow.

'Both' I answered.

'C'mon let's just go to breakfast, your gonna need your strength for tonight' I said grimly.

'Yeah' Remus said quietly looking down.

Sirius looked at me sadly and I knew he'd remembered it too, tonight was a full moon.

Lily's P.O.V

I skipped down to breakfast with Marlene. I was planning to wait up for James and go down to breakfast with him when I went to knock on the door I heard Remus, Sirius and James muttering behind the door. James was bound to tell them the password at some point. But it sounded serious so I quietly went the through the portrait hole and went to meet Marlene.

'Lily? Hello, you in there somewhere' Marlene waved a hand in front of my face and I quickly turned my head.

'Hmm, oh yeah yeah, sorry' I said shaking my head.
