Severus' P.O.V
'No! The last time we had a plan it blew up in our faces! You're lucky my father heard about it and got us all off the hook or we'd have been kicked out of Hogwarts!' Malfoy whisper shouted, as we stood in the secluded areas of the common room.
'Not this time! I swear no one will know it's us and plus don't you want to get back at Potter for everything he's done?' I said confident that my plan now will work.
For the love of Merlin why can't he just trust me? He hates Potter as much as me and I'm intelligent enough to devise this plan, I mean my skills at potions are outstanding. I admit last time my curse was little too far and the fact that Lily could have died was killing me, I couldn't eat or sleep or think about anything else but her and the ache in my chest accompanied with the pit in my stomach. But I lost it and I saw red.
'Are you barmy, Snape?! You want me to go through with a plan with you when I don't even know what the plan is?!' His voice rose slightly and my anger bubbled inside me at the thought of him jeopardising the plan.
'Will you shut your mouth?!' He glared at me as I growled at him for raising his voice to me, 'If I tell you the plan will you help me?' I say with caution.
'Depends what the plan is, I don't like getting my hands dirty.' He says simply and I make the split second decision to tell him, I can trust Malfoy as far as I can throw him but he's the only one skilled enough to help me pull this off and why would he rat me out? Again, he hates Potter.
'OK, so I have found out from a reliable source that Potter is taking Evans,' I watch him role his eyes at the mention of her name, 'to the Yule Ball.' I start.
'Oh, how sweet. Can I leave now?' He says with sarcasm laced into his voice.
'No, I'm not finished. Potter's Head Boy now right? So, I've been planning this for a while but it's finally done.' I say, he looks at me confused so I look around quickly before swiftly nodding my head out the door.
He follows behind me as I walk quickly down the corridor until I reach the prefects bathroom, no one ever comes in here because of that screeching dreadful ghost, Myrtle. The amount of times I've wanted to strangle her before realising I can't is bonkers.
I walked to the last cubicle and slowly pushed the door open. The on the floor in the middle of the small compartment lay a single cauldron.
'What in Merlins name is this?' Malfoy demands, probably thinking I'm playing some sort of trick on him.
I inhale a sharp breath, look around once more for extra precaution and say very quietly...
'Polyjuice Potion.'
Lily's P.O.V
'LILY EVANS! OH MY GOODNESS!' Marlene screams at the top of her lungs as soon as James and I break apart.
I jump slightly but never breaking eye contact with James' beautiful hazel eyes.
I wait for her to continue but she says nothing, I don't think she evens knows what to say. I don't think any of us do. I can feel the gasps of excitement of joy and the smug look on Remus' face but I don't care, not one bit.
'Is that a yes then?' James says smirking slightly.
It gives me butterflies and for the first time ever I don't actually mind be vulnerable in front of him. There's still the lingering feeling of will he hurt me but that isn't going to stop me. For once I'm just going to say what I want to say, I'm going to do what I want to do. And does that make me irresponsible? I don't think so. Is it out of character for me? Definitely, but I'm not the same person I was a couple of months ago, I've been through so much since then and I don't want any of it to change.
