"Uh...what...are you doing?" Malik leans over my shoulder, watching me turn on my laptop and navigate to my email.
"The letter mentioned that information would be sent to my email. The letter was written most likely over 12 hours ago. It is possible there is an email already there," I comment while typing in my username and password. I'm right. The very first email is from an unknown sender. When I open it, a pink cartoon bunny dances across my screen. He draws a square on my screen which turns black the moment it was drawn. The ridiculous rabbit steps off to the side of the square and wiggle its eyebrows at me, pointing to the play button in the box. I sigh. He has not changed at all. I bite my lip and push the play button. My eyes grow wide and my blood boils as a dim light penetrates the darkness of the room. The camera zooms in on a figure across the room from it. I recognize that tri-colored hair anywhere. It's Yugi.
His head is bowed, his blonde bangs hiding most of his face. His skin is dirty and laden with bruises. What the fuck had they done to him? He is in a partially standing position and is leaning against the wall. His arms are chained above his head, his wrists are bent limply at the metal shackles. Judging from the tautness of the chains, they are the primary reason Yugi is still on his feet. A small trickle of blood emerges from under the shackle on his left wrist and runs down his arm.
"Yugi," I whispers. This man has gone way too far. He can fuck with me all he likes, but he made a grave mistake when he took Yugi and a lethal mistake when he did this to him. I slam the laptop closed, feeling sick to my stomach.
"Was it from him, Atemu?" Ryou appears at my side. I nod.
"What did the message say?" Malik asks, continuing to gnaw on his lower lip.
"Nothing useful," I growl.
"What did it say then?" Marik prompt me to continue and provide more information. I can't tell them what I saw. I need someone to remain focused and calm enough to prevent me from committing murder. Good luck to them with that by the way. I stand from my seat at the desk, ignoring Marik's question. I take several deep breaths, my brain working in overdrive to come up with a plan. I turn and head for the door.
"Wait, Atemu! Where are you going?" Ryou asks, grabbing my arm. He gasps when I turned to face him. Rage must be prominent on my face. He releases his grip on me instantly and backs up. "What did you see?" he whispers.
