I have seventeen days to save my sister from the curse.
In this chapter, this is Marcie.
"Marcie come on!" Comet exclaims from downstairs.
I sigh. Should I just tell him? He's never gonna catch the hints. I mean, maybe I should just tell him the truth. I don't see why not. I guess I should-
I hear the doorbell ring. Right. Tiffany. If I tell Comet the truth then he's gonna choose Tiffany. I guess it's better...
To be just freinds.
"Why are you friends with her?" Tiffany sighs.
I let out an annoyed sigh. I'm getting sick of how possessive and selfish she's been.
"Look," I glare, "you've done a lot of stupid stuff latley OK? I am honestly still kinda mad at you. Just... try not murder her OK?"
"Fine," Tiffany turns away, "I won't."
"No curses either," I warn.
"Oh come on!" Tiffany exclaims.
Marcie appears at the top of the stairs. She smiles at me. She wears her red hoodie, but it's unzipped, showing her Love Sentence shirt.
I find my cheeks glowing pink. I ignore this and turn to Tiffany as Marcie approaches.
"Ready to go?" She smiles.
"Yup," I reply. Trying to figure out what caused the glowing. What caused it? It doesn't happen without reason, and it only happens with Tiffany...
And Marcie.
...
No. I love Tiffany. She's always been there for me. I can't just... cut things off with her.
Besides, even if I did want to ask Marcie out, we're just freinds. She's offered no signs that she likes me. I mean, if she did, she'd say it. It's not like she's been dropping hints. Even if she was, I know I would've caught at least one. I mean, come on. I'm not stupid.
We exit the house and start to the concert.
"So," Tiffany grabs my arm and smiles, making my cheeks glow again as we walk, "what's your favorite Love Sentence song?"
"Why one song?" Marcie steps in front of Tiffany, blocking my view of Tiffany in a fashion that looks almost intentional, "what's your favorite album?"
"I'd have to say 'I Should've Said It'. You guys know that one? It has the song, 'Just Friends'?"
"I love that song!" Tiffany smiles, pulling me closer to her, making my cheeks glow pink, "I think they're gonna be performing it!"
"Yeah," Marcie smiles, accidently bumping into Tiffany, pushing her back, "and it's gonna be great!"
"Yeah," Comet's cheeks glow pink, "but uh, you did kinda push Tiffany there."
"Oh," I turn to Tiffany, "sorry."
"Accidents happen," Tiffany forces the words through her clenched teeth.
"Anyways," Comet grabs Tiffany's hands, "I'm glad neither of you are trying to kill each other."
"Yeah," I turn away, hiding my jealousy, "It's... better this way."
Yeah. It is better this way, isn't it? If I confess, Comet may not wanna be freinds anymore. Then I'll lose him, even as just a friend. Besides, he's happy with Tiffany. It's just... better this way.
