"Comet," Star asks, "Are you sure about this?"

River, Star, and I sit in front of the portal as I nod, getting up, "Look guys, family isn't blood, but you guys are my family, and if I don't act, if we don't act, Moon will hurt you. Hurt us. The longer we wait the stronger her magic will grow and I'm tired of the sneaking around. I'm OK with waiting and all but... can we really afford to?"

River sighs and looks at both of us, sharpening his ax, "If we don't all make it... remember, that someday in the after life, a good place, we will see each other again. At least, that's what I believe I understand if you don't but I do, so, someday, all three of us and those you call family Comet, will go there and be together, a family forever in the cloud. So please, promise me, if one of us goes to the Heavens to soon, don't give up. Promise me you'll keep going."

"We will dad," I nod.

River lifts his ax and hugs me and Star, "Good. I love both of you. I'm so, so proud of you. Both of you, and I'll always be proud of you."

"We love you too," Star replies as we hug him back.

I take a deep breath, Star and I gripping the halves of the wand. My sister, father and I, of both blood and love, about to face a monster who merely happens to have blood ties to me.

"Do the others know?" Star ask.

"No," I reply, "Unless you told Jim."

"No," Star shakes her head, "Moon has become to unstable and dangerous if we bring the others they could get hurt. Let's go."

The three of us enter the portal.

A portal to Castle Mewni...

This is Moon this chapter.

My ex husband, daughter, and...

Comet?

How is-

No Comet is dead.

How is he here in front of my throne?

"Moon Butterfly," Star glares, "We need to talk."

"There is no point to talking," I sigh, "Is there?"

Comet strikes with a narwhal blast, answering the question as I dodge, sprouting wings.

"So that's how it is?" I glare, "So be it!"

I sprout my wings, my flesh turning blue and glowing with a magical light as I feel magic course through my veins, and blast at the trio with a beam of dark magic, who scatter in response. I go after Star first, who dashes down a hallway of my castle, shooting spells at me that I block with a barrier of raw magic, blasting Star in the arm with a beam that causes her to cry out in pain.

"You..." I growl, "You little tratior. You were going to be queen! My heir! You were going to rule Mewni just like me!"

"Rule like you?" Star demands, before casting a spell to summon a rainbow colored sword made of magic, which I counter with a pale blue magical sword of my own, the two of us clashing as magical sparks fly. "Like you? You tried to make me kill my brother! I watched powerless to help him for years and it was almost impossible for him and I to be family again? Be like you? I would rather die than be like you!"
