The Ballard

Today's the day. Today the people of Mewni learn the truth. In fact, the Ballard is already starting.

"You ready Star?" Moon asks.

"Yeah," I smile with a green glow, "I've been looking forward to this."

"As have I," Moon admits, "I just wish your father was here. Ever since he left..."

Moon stops glowing for a moment. She seems distressed, but then the glow returns and she continues, "we've had a lot more time for handling the kingdom's affairs."

We head out to the balcony and get ready as the Ballard begins. I eagerly await the verse I wrote, as the curtains begin to rise...

Riley smiles at me, signalling that she remembers the plan. She begins with the standard fare, standard song on a life as she sings,

"Who is the maiden with the golden hair?
Who walks on sunlight,
Dances in the sky?

A force of good, that's what Queen Moon said.
But the better of the two is her brother,

Wait, that contradicts the verse I wrote. I don't like this. The High Commission sit, Glossaryck excluded for obvious reasons, watching, just as confused and bewildered as I am.

The tune of the song sees a drastic, upbeat change as Riley continues.

Moon starts crying. Her glow stops. Where is this going?

A thick mist falls over the stage. Finally, my verse. Riley smirks as a green lighting covers the stage with a glow similar to my own.

"Then we destroy them all," the voice whispers.

The song sounds more eerie and somber as Riley continues...

"That shining Comet,
Shining with a green bright light.
We all thought him dead.
But rumors say he's alive.

Plotting to kill Moon,

Moon suddenly dashes off, crying. Rhombulus, the odd, masculine, being gets up with Lekmet, an elderly goat woman and they go to console her. They manage to stop her and bring her back as I realize that Riley didn't do her job and my glow grows brighter...

The beat changes, becoming more calm as Riley smiles, puppets of me, Marcie, and Tiffany coming on stage.
