"Hey Marcie!" I greet with a smile as they enter the house, "how was school?"

"Pretty good," Marcie replies, "thanks for asking. I really think you should go, I mean, it'll be fun. I know you've only been here for a day, but you can't stay in here forever."

"The Diazs are nice though," I smile, "we were just about to play a card game."

"I was actually kinda hoping we could hang out. I mean, why not?"

"I was gonna pratice my magic," I explain, "But I can put that off until later. I mean, it's not like Tiffany-"

Just then, my mirror rings. I answer, realizing it's Tiffany.

"Hey Comet!" She greets with a smile.

"Hey Tiffany," I smile back, "how's things down below?"

"Great!" Tiffany smiles, "hey, I wanted to ask you something,  are you familiar with the Blood Moon Ball?"

"Happens only once every 667 years."

"Yeah, and it's happening tonight. I wanted to know if you were gonna be there?"

"Yeah sure I'll-"

"Hello!" Marcie intrudes on the conversation, "you're Tiffany, right?"

"Comet who's this?" Tiffany asks.

"This is my friend Marcie," I explain, "her family welcomed me into their home on Earth. So, that's who they are."

Tiffany's eyes glow red with jealousy, but she manages to keep  up appearances and replies, "alright. Well, I wanted to know if you wanted to go to the Blood Moon Ball with me."

"Of course I would!" I exclaim, "can't wait! See you soon."

"See you soon, my Cool Comet," Tiffany uses her nickname for me as she hangs up.

"What about hanging out with me?" Marcie asks.

"I've known you for a day," I reply, "Tiffany's been my girlfriend for like a year and a half now. I think the rest explains itself."

"Alright," Marcie sighs, "I understand."

"Great," I smile, "now, I'm gonna go get ready. Mr. and Ms. Diaz! I'm going out! I'll be back!"

"Be safe Comet!" Mr. Diaz replies from the kitchen with Ms. Diaz.

"Have fun Comet!" Ms. Diaz adds.

"Let's see," I think aloud, "I'll need a new suit..."

"Suit shopping?" Marcie asks, "you're going to a demon ball. Where do we find a suit for that?"

"Same place we find everything," I smile taking out the bell, "problem is, I'm broke."

"My parents can lend you some money," Marcie smiles, "they'll understand."

"I can't do that," I reply, "I just got here."

"Ah come on," Marcie smiles, "it'll be fine. Hey dad?"

"Yeah?" Mr. Diaz replies.

"Can Comet borrow some money? He'd ask himself but he's to scared."

"Comet," Ms. Diaz asks, "can you come in here for a second?"

"You're dead to me," I whisper to Marcie.

"You'll thank me later," Marcie replies.

I nervously enter the kitchen, unable to look the Diazs in the eye. In the one day I've been here, I've felt more at home here since I ever have on Mewni.

"You do know you can ask us for money," Mr. Diaz asks, "right? Look, we understand if you don't trust is that much considering your past, but, we're here to help Comet."

"It's not that," I explain, "It's that you've already given me so much dad."

"What did you call me?" Mr. Diaz asks.

"Uhhhhhh...." I stop dead, "let's agree to overlook that. Anyways, you've already given me a home, and made me feel welcome. You've shown more love and kindness to me than those on Mewni did in my ever did. I couldn't ask more of you guys," I start to cry, "what if I upset you guys and you guys stop caring about me or..."

Mr. and Ms. Diaz... no... mom and dad hug me, comforting my insecurities.

"It's OK," mom comforts me, "you're always welcome here. You'll always be family to us Comet, even if you've only been here a day, we still love you like our son."

"Thanks," I smile, hugging them back, "and even if this is a bit fast... you guys at the closest to parents I've ever had."

"How much money do you need?" Dad asks as he lets go.

"About fifty dollars," I explain, "if that's to much, I understand."

"It's fine," mom smiles handing me the money, "have fun Comet."

"I will," I smile, "thanks."

I head outside, and Marcie waves goodbye from the doorway, not looking me in the eye for some reason.

"I still gotta get a suit," I explain, "can you come with me and give me a second opinion on what I should get?"

"Oh," Marcie looks at me, smiling, "sure, sounds fun."

Marcie walks up next to me. I ring the bell, causing a demon carriage to appear.

"What floor mortal?" The demon asks as we get in.

"Bottom," I reply, "but first, we need to make a stop by Quest Buy."

"As you wish," the demon replies as the door on the carriage closes and it carries us to Quest Buy...
