Chapter 29

They dragged me into a large room that was full of scientific looking instruments. I was dragged over to a machine attached to a wall and locked into it. There were four metal squares that the scientists locked around my hands and feet, they didn't have to worry about me running away, the metal squares weighed like 50 tons.

Dr Rabies went over to one of the scientists and began talking to him about something. The scientist nodded and gestured at something in a silver box beside him. This made Dr Rabies smile, which scared me (partly because of the box and partly because of his ugly smile). "Hope you're ready for some fun Essix." Dr Rabies said with another smile. One of the scientists pressed a button on a computer and two giant tubes beside me began to glow. A strong magnetic force sucked me upwards and locked the metal squares to the tubes, so now I was in an X shape. Dr Rabies nodded to the scientist he spoke to earlier and he opened the silver box.

A dim purple light illuminates the room; inside the box was a black crystal. The scientist carefully took it out of the box and gave it to Dr Rabies. Dr Rabies fit the crystal into a ray gun and turned to me "I owe you an explanation. This is a shard from the Nightmare Crystal, with its power infused with this blaster I'm going to turn you into a force of true darkness! I can control your every move, and I can also control when you're Dark Essix or not." He paused then continued "But enough talking, time to make Plan Z a reality!" Dr Rabies pulled the trigger and a black beam shot out and engulfed me.

I screamed; it felt like my body was being torn apart cell by cell. The pain kept getting worse and worse. Suddenly it felt as if my body had been frozen, my vision went dark and I heard a strange voice in my head: "Welcome to the worst nightmare Essix." As quickly as my vision went dark, my vision came back. Unfortunately the pain came back as well, stronger than ever. I saw something out of the corner of my eye; I looked at my arm and saw that my fur was changing colors! I struggled to look down and saw that it was happening everywhere, my gold fur was slowly turning black! The pain intensified. I screamed and weighed in agony. Finally it stopped.

They shut off the magnetic machine, but this time the cubes unlocked and stayed in place. I didn't have any energy or strength left at all, so I fell and landed hard on the ground below. Dr Rabies laughed "Yes, my experiment worked! Guards, take her back to the holding room, we'll commence the rest of my plan in the morning."
