A Warrior's Quest (Book 2)

Chapter 33

                              Star's POV
Dr Rabies narrowed his eyes and stared at the ground "They can't hide forever." "Who said we were hiding?" Erde burst through the rock a couple of feet away from Dr Rabies. "Maximo!" Dr Rabies shouted. "Maximo is not available at this time, please don't leave a message, and don't call back." Azula said. "What do y-the collar!" Dr Rabies exclaimed nervously. "Looking for this?" I held Maximo's broken collar up for Dr Rabies to see. "No!" Dr Rabies exclaimed. "Oh yes. You know what that means..." Briggan said. Maximo came over the top of the hill "It means my days as your slave are over." "Congratulations...you finally got me..." Dr Rabies turned away from us, then he laughed and I saw him press a button on his remote as he turned back around "Hahaha sike!" Before any of us could get to him he disappeared into thin air. "Ugh! He escaped again!" I said angrily.

"Star watch out!" Erde shouted. I quickly glanced up and saw Essix diving out of the sky towards me. I barely had time to dodge before she slammed down on the ground where I was standing a minute before. Essix straightened up and spoke, but her voice wasn't her original voice. This voice sounded like it belonged to something evil and it sent chills down my spine. "You dare resist me? Very well, then you'll taste my wrath!"Essix darted forward and attacked Briggan with a rain of blows. Surprised by the attack Briggan went limp. Anyone else would have thought Briggan was beaten, but that was one of the old Essix's signature feint moves. As soon as she let her guard down Briggan quickly lashed out and grabbed Essix's arm and flipped her over. Enraged Essix got up and jumped in the direction of Iris and Tiny "Alright princess, since your friends keep insisting on attacking me, I'm taking your life as punishment!" Iris stood firm and pushed Tiny behind her "You can try." I was wondering why she was so confident until I saw the hot spring behind her. Essix took a step forward and drew her sword. Iris' eyes started to glow blue and a massive wall of water rose up behind her "You will not hurt any of my friends!" Iris raised her arms, when she lowered them the massive wall of water shot forward and blasted Essix. She flew across the lava fields and smashed into the rocky cliffs on the other side. All of our mouths fell open. "Dang girl!"Razor yelled when we had finally regained out composure. "It was nothing guys..." Iris replied clearly embarrassed.

But there was no time for celebration. Behind us a boulder flew into the air and landed wit a loud crack. A few seconds later Essix burst through the rock pile she had been buried in and launched herself into the air "You persistence is starting to irritate me. Why are your spirits so strong?" "We're fighting for our friend, something you'll never understand!" I replied. "Oh I understand." Essix said in a voice as cold as ice "I understand that you're all going to perish in my world of darkness!" Essix flapped her wings and a dark wave rippled across the lava field. "Everyone quick, into the air!" I yelled. I grabbed Tiny and Briggan followed, but the others didn't jump in time and the dark wave pulled them back onto the ground. We watched in horror as the dark energy covered them. Then the dark energy moved off of them and formed identical dark clones of them. "Whoah, what just happened?!" Briggan exclaimed.

The dark clones the proceeded to attack their look alikes. I looked down on the chaos "We've gotta stop this." I said while clenching my fists. Briggan put his hand on my shoulder "Don't worry, we will end this." I looked at him and we both nodded. It was time to put our plan into action.

I tucked in my wings and plunged downward like a bullet. I have a loud whistle and the others saw me and began to follow after me. The clones took the bait and chased after us, eventually we ran right into a dead end. Essix swooped down in front of us "End of the line." I glanced back at Azula and she nodded. She spread her legs and planted her feet firmly on the ground, then Azula raised her arms and held them out forward like she was going to push something. Essix drew her sword and lunged "Now Azula!" I yelled. A big black orb covered us. It flattened Essix to the ground and forced the clones out of the orb. Whoah! What is this?!" Tiny asked amazed. "It's an Onyx Warp, which is a very powerful containment orb." Briggan said. "Please quit talking and get whatever it is you need to get done completed, I can't hold his forever!" Azula said through grtitted teeth.

I faced Essix and concentrated. I lifted my hand and used my psychic powers to freeze Essix in place. "Ok guys, if I don't make it back-" I started. "No. I want to do it." Briggan said. I saw the fiery determination in his eyes and knew that this was meant for him to do. I concentrated again and focused all of my thoughts and power on Essix. The real Essix, my best friend and adventure partner. I opened my eyes and Briggan was gone. "It worked." I whispered "Stay safe my friend. We're behind you every step of the way, so bring her and yourself  back safely."

5. I live in the country somewhere in south Alabama. That's all I'm going to tell about where I live, eh not like anyone's going to kill me or anything. It's a county called Dale County...somewhere in Dale County...

6. I am an action/adventure lover. There's no better movies to me than action movies. Indiana Jones or James Bond movies are some of my top favorites.

7. I am a beast when it comes to Mario Kart, no one has beat me in a long time.

8. Penguins, turtles, and cheetahs are my favorite animals.

9. I'm going to be a senior in high school this year...

10. Uh...I have a big fear of spiders. Which is ironic since my favorite hero is Spiderman 😂
