A Warrior's Quest (Book 2)

Chapter 30

I was thrown into a empty, dimly lit room. At least I thought it was empty. A second glance and I saw a faint outline of someone or something huddled in the corner. I wasn't sure what to do, but then again I couldn't move anyway. I saw the figure slowly started creeping towards me, I could now make out its outline. I tried to move away, but it was no use. My muscles refused to obey. "Don't be afraid, I will not harm you." I managed to sit up somehow and peered into the dimness "Who are you?" "I'm Maximo from Plasma Land, and you are?" "Um...my name's Essix." I replied awkwardly. "Beautiful name." Maximo said. "Uh...thanks." I replied.

"How about it brighten up this place a bit?" Maximo rubbed his hands together and sparks crackled off of his fingers, then suddenly he began to glow. In the soft light I was able to see what he looked like. Maximo might be as tall as Briggan, it was hard to tell because he wasn't standing up. He had cream colored fur and beautiful brown eyes. Maximo wore a red bandanna around his neck and a pair of goggles sat on top of his head. "So you're the lightning Elemental?" I asked. "Yep. I fight with electricity, I'm also pretty handy with machines. Back home I'm a mechanic, I fix all sorts of stuff, I even in wanted my own hover board to get around on." Maximo said. "That's really cool. You'd like my best friend Star, she good with that stuff too. It's sorta one of her secret hobbies though so don't tell anyone." I replied. Maximo nodded, saw his gaze rest on my collar "You have one of those too?" "Unfortunately. Where's yours?" I asked.

Maximo lifted his right arm and I saw a thick black band around his shoulder. "Why is it around your shoulder?" I asked. "They tried to put it around my neck like yours, but I kept melting through it when they weren't looking." Maximo replied. I noticed a bunch of scratches and scars on Maximo's arms and across his stomach. He was probably tortured for disobeying. "I know how that feels." I said softly. Maximo noticed I was looking at the scars and he quickly tried to hide them "Yeah...Anyway, it was nice talking to you Essix. I'm going to sleep so goodnight." Maximo snapped his fingers and he immediately stopped glowing and the room was dark again. In the dim light I saw him flop down in the corner and sleep, at least I think he was asleep, who knows?

So do anyone who is looking for a good movie to see I highly recommend seeing Wonder Woman. I saw it yesterday and it was awesome!! I'm not an avid superhero movie fan, but the action in that movie and the major plot twist in it was great. I'm still kinda upset about the ending though...but oh well.
