"This is against every rule." I muttered, slipping through the bars behind her.

"Well, you see, a mental institution is supposed to help you get better, isn't it?"

"Rowan, this is pushing it."

Her feathery hair was tucked inside of a hat and her pale yellow pajama shirt was covered by a hoodie. She stopped in her tracks and turned slowly towards me.

Her actions made me want to take back what i had just said and i'm not sure why. like a cat, her green eyes pierced through the night underneath the the rim of her baseball cap. the odd thing was that she didn't say anything. she turned right back around and continued to walk. i stood still momentarily and then followed after her, more quietly this time.

"Sixty-seven." Rowan said proudly, before placing herself gently underneath a window and behind a normal looking bush.

"Sixty-seven?"

"Sit." she breathed and patted the space next to her.

And just like Tyler and I with our backs against his bed, it was Rowan and I with our backs against the wall of the institution.

"She's gonna ruin me, Ty." I mumbled as the space around me transformed into Tyler's bedroom.

"Maybe not Jish. You haven't even given her a chance."

"I gave you a chance." I said quietly.

The pill bottle was full, and Tyler had it steady in his lap. The room had the same night blue glow shining through the window. His baby blue curtains swam in the draft that poured through his window. The window wasn't cracked by the rock I threw that night just yet, but it would be if I talked with Tyler for a few more hours. And just as you probably guessed it, the bottle of pills would be empty and Tyler would be gone.

"Yeah, I gave you a chance and you ruined me."
