KATSUMI POV

"Okay, the silence is like, totally uncomfortable. Will someone explain what's going on?"

"Simple: we bought you." Said Ichinomiya.

"Well no duh. I'm talking about, like, am I gonna be a sex slave or something? Because I'm underage and I don't think my mom would let me."

"No, you aren't going to be a sex slave." He answered, clearly annoyed.

"We just want to ask you some questions kid." Spoke the slacker looking dude with the cancer stick.

"You paid 20 something million yen for me me, and you just want to talk?"

"We could put you back up for sale."

"No thanks," I responded, "I'm good. But, uh, could you guys tell me who you are? Like, I know who you and Kisaki are, but who might be everyone else."

"Mamoru Kishi," said Slacker Dude.

"Soryu Oh," said the scary guy in a deep voice.

"Baba." He said simply. He being the fedora man.

"Okay, well I'm Katsumi Kobayashi, but I like to be called Kat. Uh, I'm 15, and for some reason this is starting to sound like an AA meeting so I'm gonna stop now."

"Katsumi, I'm going to ask you some questions, okay? I want you to answer these honestly," Baba told me.

"Okay..."

"What are the names of your parents?"

"Yui Kobayashi."

"And your father?"

"I don't know. I've never met him."

"How come?"

"My mother left him when she found out she was pregnant with me. Something about his world being too dangerous for a child, whatever that means. My theory is he's a police officer or something. Either that or a hardcore criminal. You never know."

He looked at me intently, his eyes holding some kind of reminiscence as he smiled kindly at me.

"Tell me about yourself, pretty lady."

"Eh? Oh, okay, I guess. I go to an all girls academy. I got there an an academics scholarship. I have two best friends; Ume and Mizu. But a girl named Saki likes to tag along. I live in Kyushu. And, um, I like to read."

"What books are your favorite?" He asked. I noticed everyone else had left at some point.

"I recently read Go Ask Alice and thought that was pretty good. Alice by Christina Henry was chilling. So was Gears of Wonderland. Are you noticing a trend here? But my most absolute favorite is Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. My mother used to read it to me all the time when I was little."

"Tell me about your mother."

"Oh, well she has brown hair, brown eyes, and she's pale. And she has a tattoo of the joker card. She said it was so my father could always be with her or something."

He looked as if he would bust into tears, "Does your mother love your father, after all this time?"

I was taken a bit back by the question by answered it nonetheless.

"Yes. Always. She tells me all the time how she'll never stop loving him. Why do you ask?"

"It's late.," he sighed, "you should be in bed." He picked me up princess style, "off we go, pretty princess."

"Where are you going?" I asked, very alarmed."

"You are going to bed. I am handling business."

And with that, he took me to a nice suite, gently tucked me in, kissed my forehead, bid me goodnight, and left the room.

.......

BABA POV

Once I tucked in Katsumi, I went back to the Spades Room where everyone else had returned.

"Mamoru, do you have the report?"

"Yeah," he blew out smoke from his cigarette, "here." He tossed it to me.

I opened the file to reveal a picture of Yui and all her contact information.

"Yui..."

"Are you sure you can do this? Koro and you haven't talked in 15 years."

"Ota. I need to hear her voice. And I need to know if Katsumi is my daughter. I'm positive she is- she's a spitting image of me- but I have to know for it to be real."

I took out my phone, looked at the number on the paper, and typed it in.

Only I couldn't bring myself to press the call button.

"You and I both know that if you wanted to talk to her, you would've gotten her file when she left. Only she didn't just leave- you let her go."

Eisuke's words were like venom entering my system.

I pressed the button.

It rang three times before she picked up.

"Hello?" She sounded like she had just woke up.

"Yui?"

There was a gasp, "B-Baba?"

AN: Sorry it's a bit short- I just needed to get introductions out of the way. Kat's not very smart, is she? Anyway, quick question: does anyone actually read this?
